Not particularly IPA-ish. Why don't they just call it a pale ale? Poured in a light amber colour with some foam. There wasn't much smell, just a hint roasted malts. No yeast. Maybe served a bit too cold. The taste was of sweet, roasted malts and some bread notes. There was a lso a chemical taste, maybe from the bar's washing detergent? On the positive side it did have a certain fullness. It went down, alright.

Poured into a glass

If this were not called an IPA it might be a better beer. Imagine if you will Okanagan Spring Not-so-special Pale-er Ale. Or how about Okanagan Spring Not-Worth-Mentioning generic lager.

There is nothing worth noting here. Looks like your average, seen in a movie scene beer served in a glass. Clear deep yellow, fizzy and white headed.

Smells like 1516. put the 2 together and tell me which one is which by scent. i dare you. hops..where are you

Disappointing lack of hops. I think this is the least hoppy of all of their lighter beers. And this is the IPA? Typical ok spring malts and yeast. Refreshing light beer flavour. Not a bad beer at all.
This simply is not an IPA, and I can't get past that.

Medium carbonation, and light finish but slight metalic quality making it not a great session beer.

Not a bad lager but
Worst IPA ever
shame on you OSB

Pours a dull orange, but generates a thick off white head that seem to be sticking around and leaving a fair amount of lacing. Looks not bad at all.

Smells grassy and has a citrus hop to it. The mix of the two is alright, but not all that nice. Not a very strong smell either.

Taste is fairly watery up front, and the finish doesn't do much better. The malt really tastes watered down. Biscuity, but only faintly so. The hops are citrus flavoured, and nowhere near the strength I would expect from the style.

The mouthfeel also doesn't impress. A bit thin and relatively flat feeling. Not my thing.

I have no problem drinking one of these, but I don't see the point really. Not much there. I see this as more a stab at taking some of Alexander Keith's market than making a good IPA.

Another mediocre Canadian IPA. It seems that the only Canadian breweries that can do an outstanding IPA are smaller and micro-breweries.

I actually like this better than Sleeman's attempt. The colour is good, if not a little light. A nice gold, with a foamy, lingering white head that clings to the glass.

The smell is quizzical. Initially, I found very little scent to this, but as it begins to warm, I can pick up some malts and hops, but they smell clinical, almost astringent.

Taste wise, this is a bit more on target. The scent alone belies that the hops are not so powerful as an American IPA, and the taste reflects this. Indeed, at times this is almost too malty and comes off as a standard pale ale, but there is still just enough of a hop bite to remind you that this is an attempt to do an IPA.

This seems to be a little bit too fizzy, but aside from that this certainly is drinkable, although not thoroughly enjoyable.
