This is one of my "go to" beers. I love the taste and feel of Black Lager - it pours like coca cola, smells a bit like hot chocolate with marshmallows, and tastes so good. There is a bit of coffee and a roasted malt smoothness that is incredibly enjoyable. I rarely buy six of the same beer at one time, but when I do, it is usually this beer.

Purchased from a sampler. Pours a very fizzy black not unlike coca cola with two fingers of beige head. Smells malty with some burnt marshmallow notes, and I'm also making out some coffee here too. Pours very thick, though it doesn't feel that way in the mouth. Mouthfeel is very smooth, but you get some carbonation on the tongue for sure. Taste is not as great as I would have wanted. I'm tasting some coffee, but it's not bitter, just somewhat unpleasant. Aftertaste is sour, although this may be attributed to the bottle being in my fridge for six months. I'll try a fresher bottle when I can, but if the next one is like this, I'm not making a repeat purchase.

Looks and smells great though.

OK Springs 'Brewmaster Black Lager' @ 5.0% , from a 6pack of 330 ml bottles ,
(originally had on tap @ GCBF 4.5 rating)
A-pour is dark brown/black with a fine tight tan head , leaving spotty lacing along the stein
S-roasted dark chocolate malt
T-smooth taste , not as crisp as I remember it tasting on tap ,
MF-mild/medium carbonation , medium/full body
Ov-tasted better on tap @ GCBF (won my Bronze Medal) , but still a good beer in the bottle form

cheers LampertLand
