Very nicely flavored and slightly fruity hopped and sessionable IPA.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange red with a small white head. Smells of citrus and floral hops, nice blend aroma. Tastes of citrus hops and fruitiness with a tad bite of sour. Beer is light bodied, slightly high carbonation, but very easy drinking. Overall, an above average beer.

A thanks to the previous reviewer, the king of carnage, and champion of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Has a pretty, hazy orange/amber color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of malts, light citrus. Taste is lemons, tart, some malts, a bit unusual, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall, not horrible, but not what I expect from the style.

I was on a field trip into MaryCANd a few weekends ago, hitting The Green Tortoise & as many liquor stores as we could. This one will make a welcome addition to The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: "A true West Coast style IPA, mash hopped with our farm grown whole hops, finished with Amarillo and Summit, creating a brilliant citrusy nose. This beer leaves you wondering when your second pint is going to arrive."
It came in a tallboy 16-fl. oz. CAN, but when I hear the Crack!, I really want to do an inverted Glug. I held off in this case for two reasons, 1) I have attempted it before with a Pounder CAN, to disastrous results & 2) previous reviews made it sound hazy, so perhaps a proper deCANting will provide some clarity. I did not get much head, initially, but the server's trick raised up just under three fingers of foamy, tawny head with decent retention. Color was Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had an earthiness that put me in mind of either an EIPA or a wet-hop AIPA. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was slightly tart and very earthy, leaving me even more CANflicted than I had been from the nose. It was not much as far as an AIPA goes, but since we are encouraged by this site to keep style in mind, the scores are going to be reflective. The taste just seemed to be off, somehow, and that tartness coupled with the earthiness was really off-putting for me. CANtinuing to plow through it, I was getting a lemony tartness/sourness. I will tell you that a major tenet of The CANQuest (tm) is that I must drink all of it for it to count, but this was becoming a chore. Finish was dry, but there were just too many off flavors for me to recommend it. Sorry.

Stumbled upon this brewery yesterday when going wine tasting next door at Linganore. Told the friendly beertender that I was a hop head and he immediately poured me this. Noting its modest (for me, anyway) 5.5 ABV and 45 IBU, I was dubious. But it's actually quite tasty -- as good as any sessionable IPA I've tried. (At 5.5 I realize it's not technically a "session" IPA, but it is compared to what I usually drink.) Great color, big foamy head, well-balanced. Solid effort overall.
As already noted, it's relatively pricey: $12 for a 4-pack of 16-ounce cans. That will probably stop me from buying again for home consumption. But if I'm in the neighborhood I'd certainly fork over another $5 for a pint and enjoy the ambiance.

Creamy IPA. Looks excellent - copper color, great lacing. Nose is mild piney hops. Very subtle - for how pretty it is, not much going on in the nose. Flavor is fairly similar. Nice, tasty, but surprisingly subtle. Hops, a touch of caramel malt. Really...quiet. Not bad, with a nice body, but just kind of not a lot going on.

Honestly had low expectations but found this to be a wonderfully balanced IPA. Very impressive!

Bought in pint cans in Frederick. I thought this was a great IPA and wonder if I'm having the same experience as some of the other reviewers. Pretty well balanced with tons of great hop flavor and aroma. Nice and sessionable. Will definitely pick up again, although it's a bit on the pricey side (can get a 6-pack of Flying Dog The Truth IIPA at this price point).

Big giant frothy head over a dark amber caramel-ish colored very bubbly medium to heavy bodied ale with a sweet malty smell and a very slight citrus aroma. Taste follows the nose with a dose of sweet slightly caramel malt and just a bit of hops, although none of the tastes really stand out.
It just doesn't hit the mark for an IPA. I was hoping for a win from another Maryland brewery but this came up short as an IPA.

Pours an odd dark brown and is a malt bomb, no hops to speak of
