Very very smooth, rich, dark. Chocolaty notes. Mildly sweet. Creamy.

Look - Dark, not black - with a foamy head
Smell - Sweet vanilla malts
Taste - Dessert in a glass
Feel - Medium body with a creamy carb
Overall - Excellent. I got turned on to porters recently and thought I'd give this one a try. Very glad I did.

Look: Dark Brown, semi opaque when held to the light you see medium brown highlights. Miniscule head, which disappates immediately after the pour.
Smell: Light milk chocolate, and raisins, very weak smell.
Taste: Milk chocolate on the backbone, vanilla extract is very artificial tasting. Hint of bitter coffee in aftertaste.
Feel: Flat! . Very creamy and velvety as would be expected from a nitro beer, but the lack of any carbonation reminds me of a flat soda.
Definately better on tap, albeit still flat. Out of the can something I will avoid in the future. Poorly designed nitro can they could take a lesson from Guiness. This earns a C.

Poured from an unusual 440 ml can. It' s a nitro, so perhaps the reduced size results from the tiny mechanism inside. The vanilla flavor was masked by the mild homemade cream of broccoli soup made with almond milk. I prefer a roastier taste in my porters. My wife said the vanilla smell was noticeable, but I didn't really pick it up. Should probably try it again on its own, without food.

It was a struggle to finish this one. Too sickly sweet with almost no body to speak of.

Pour a little lighter than I'd like to see my porters; a little too caramel & not enough black. The medium sized head was also a tinge too orange as I'd like to see it a bit more mocha. Head faded rather quickly for a porter. Aroma definitely of vanilla. Taste isn't bad but in fact just a bit too forward with the vanilla, which dominates the sweet bready malts just a bit too much. Mouthfeel is decent & smooth, but carbonation level is a little too low leaving the beer a bit limp. Although the vanilla was just too much at first, it smoothed out a bit & I enjoyed this one in the end. That said, a one-off for me as if I'm looking for a vanilla porter, there's a couple others I prefer over this one.

Really thick creamy head, hint of vanilla and chocolaty flavor which I don't mind. Light bitterness and after taste. I enjoyed it.Mill st brewery keeps impressing me every time

A very nice vanilla porter. Unfortunately, it uses a flavor which is like cheating in my opinion.
L- Dark down
S- Strong vanilla with hints of hops
T- Sweet and smooth
MF- Balanced and not too heavy. Drinkable for a vanilla porter
