Appearance: Poured from a can into a Hoegaarden pint glass in low altitude Galway, Ireland, on October 28th, 2010. Pours a clear yellow with a thin head that doesn't retain well. Unappealing.

Smell: A light smell of generic barley. Nothing special here, but not a turn off.

Taste: A very light taste of generic barley and a note of water. Best described as beer-flavoured water, which for me triggers an instant F. The finish is bland if not nonexistant. At least it's 5% ABV.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and too wet/watery. The finish isn't as dry as it ought to be to encourage the next sip. Kind of stale.

Drinkability: Wouldn't buy it again. Wouldn't drink it again. AVOID.

500ml can. "Original Polish Recipe" (look ma, no Google Translate!). Aren't they all...

This beer pours a clear, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of billowy, foamy white head, which disappears rather hastily, leaving a few arced streaks of lace around the glass. It smells of pale grain, a bit of stale lemon, and grassy, skunky hops. The taste is sweet grainy, bready malt, some strange, mildly sulfurous cooked vegetable essence, and upon coming out of that odd nadir - subtle grassy, earthy noble hops. The carbonation is pretty normal - unobtrusive at best, the body on the south side of medium weight, with an iota of prickliness spoiling the smoothness party. It finishes off-dry, the malt sweetness still in effect, the weird chemical interlude mostly diffused, letting the (let's hope) intended hops provide the balance.

An adequate Euro-lager, that stumbles a bit, and recovers to the less than stellar equilibrium - and shows less well as it warms - notes of nail polish bubble to the surface. The Polish guy in the next office only likes beer with Polish origins - I wonder what he would think of this?

Karpackie Premium is a standard European pale lager hailing from Poland.

It's deep golden in color beneath a short but creamy bright white head. The retention is good and it holds fairly well, leaving behind some nice rings of craggy lace as it goes.

The aroma expresses mainly golden malt, but there are some notes of grassy hops in there as well.

The flavor is better balanced than the nose suggests, and it's got a solid bitterness to it and some soft hop flavor that keeps the malt in check.

It's got a slightly elevated, very fine bubbled carbonation that leaves it crisp in the mouth. Light/medium in body.

Overall it's a readily drinkable and enjoyable lager.

Poured from a 500ml (1.09 pint fl oz) bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours light golden, cloudy, mediocre head retention with mid-large bubbles. Nose seems like that usual mass-produced meld of wheat and corn. Did detect some spice: Reviewer "smakawhat" suggested cinnamon; I thought it being too chalky to be cinnamon, so I'm thinking cloves. Little dry on initial taste, then sweet, then rather bland and weak (if not watery) on the finish. Nothing to brag home about: You can do much, much better for a Polish lager. But you can knock down a few cold ones of these and be whatever with it.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.

Pours golden color with white foam that settles out completely. Grainy smell. Like beer. Clean taste with mild hop finish. Very clean. Some watery consistency. Thin mouthfeel. Just light.

Easy drinker, unspectacular.

Thanks to woodychandler for yet another canned beer. Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a pale golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell has considerable sweetness, some malts. Taste is mild, malts and grains, somewhat sweet. Feels light in the mouth and overall is an easy drinking beer, but nothing special.

Poured from the bottle into a pokal glass.

A real crystal brass yellow body, with virtually no carbonation coming up. Maybe just a small handful of rising bubbles. Head is classic bleach white, with a bit of a creamy top. Creates a good tall three finger sized head, and some swiss cheese like lacing.

Interesting light spice note to this beer. Some corny smelling sweetness but there's an interesting brown spicing cinnamon like sense or something. It's kind of interesting and surprising, but basically comes out like a standard Euro lager.

Palate though brings lots of sweetness. Honey and corny sweet malt like sensations. A thick body and hints of syrup. A slight popcorn like finish with hints of toast, but mostly just a lot of white tasting sugars. Thick, sticky, and sweet.

Overall, a decent looking but overly sweet lager to add to the pile. This is far too sweet for me to just even casually enjoy.

I found this single, 5OOml brown bottle at Sal's Liquors in Addison, IL for just 99¢. The freshness date on the back label is marked Oct. 1O, 2O1O, so this bottle is pretty fresh.

The beer poured a crystal clear medium gold color and it made a nice 1½ finger fizzy white head. Unfortunately, the head disappeared rather quickly and didn't even leave a white ring on top. When I say disappeared, I mean totallt disappeared. It also left zero lacing.

There was no bad smell to this, but there was no good smell to it either. There was simply no aroma of any kind. I swirled the glass around and stuck my nose down into the glass as far as it would go, and still nothing. This beer is pretty much odorless.

Taste wise, this is a pretty good lagerr. You can taste both the sweet malt and light grain flavors, and there are just enough hops in here to keep it balanced and give it that beer flavor.

Light, but not watery mouthfeel, with a pretty high dose of carbonation to keep it crisp and refreshing.

This is a very nice pale lager from Poland. Very easy to drink with only the slightest alcohol aftertaste. I don't know what their regular price will be after the 99¢ sale is over, but for now, this is a really good deal.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a large collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of corn and rice adjuncts are present in the nose along with some hints of grassy malts.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and the grassy malts contribute a light amount of bitterness. Slight hints of skunk and sweetness become noticeable as the beer warms up.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. Bits of dryness are perceptible.
O: This beer is easy to drink but seems rather bland.

It is New Beer Sunday (Week 363), I did not go to Atlantic City as originally hoped/planned and the lure of The CANQuest (TM) was too much for me to ignore any longer. Euro CANs, no less! The excitement is too much to bear at times ...

From the CAN: "Piwo-BeerPivo-Biere-Birra-Sor"; "Wysmienite Tradycyjne (Excellent Traditional)"; "Oryginalna Polska Receptura (Original Polish Recipe)".

The Crack & Glug came off without a hitch and I began to feel like I was taking CANtrol of my day after a series of missteps. What stood out about this beer was not just it density and size (I feel like I am describing myself), but its tawny color. Speaking of color, this was sunshine in a glass! Greg Koch may rail against fizzy yellow beer as being for sissies all he wants, but when I see that bight yellow in my glass on a cold, overcast wintery day, it makes me feel like there is hope for the future. I could even see into the future, given its spectacular clarity. I saw myself drinking a beer. Oh wait, that may have been a reflection in a mirror. Nose was both grassy and slightly metallic. I may have been looking in a rear view mirror, on second thought. Mouthfeel was medium and the taste was more malty sweet than the nose had led me to expect, but I also got a metallic twang that I could have easily done without. Finish left me shaking my head - it was not horrible, but it could easily be cleaned up by allowing their yeast to repropagate.

500ml bottle best by 17.09.10.

Pours into my Stawski mug a pale gold with the ever so slightest hint of orange. The head is big and white, it looks pretty standard.

It smells average. Perhaps a bit more hops than most but overall it is standard fare.

The taste is again, standard. It has a large sweetness, more than most of this style. There is a mild fruit note as well.

This was really cheap and isn't bad if you're strapped for cash.

Pours a clean, pale yellow color, with a white head. In the aroma, sweet malt and small skunkiness, kind of standard kind of Euro lager smell. In the taste, lacking all taste except for a small, sweet malt. A smooth and medium to light bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry to clean aftertaste. Little to no taste or aftertaste at all.

500 ML brown bottle with clear freshness dating which is always nice to see on any beer. Poured into my SA perfect pint, the beer is a light, bright gold with a thick off-white head.

The nose is of honey, malts and something floral. There is just a whiff of sulfur.

The beer is sweet with honey and light bitterness. The malts add a grainy element which plays off well with the sweet elements. Just a enough hops for a bit of balance. Would be a great beer to pair with non-spicy foods. I would like it with some assorted sausages and sauerkraut!

The mouth is a bit slick with midlevel carbonation. This is an easy drinker and really a good find for $1.49 at Sal's in Elmhurst, IL. Well done!

For this review I am rating for STYLE, with personal taste coming in second. Thank you.

Crystal clear with a quick-to-subside, albeit large, white head. Golden yellow in color. For the 'Euro Pale Lager' style I give it a thumbs up.

Skunk, bare grain, and that subtle, yet present, noble hop aroma.

Grainy and sweet. Tastes as if the base grain is decent, but who knows. Taste is very clean. Little DMS and no green apple taste from acedylaldihyde.

Standard. Which in Euro Lagers equals Good.

Okay, like I said, "rating for the STYLE." I will say that this beer is so homogenous that I would be hard pressed to tell it from a Kalnapilis, or Twiyckiwhatevrer, but at least it is clean. Better than a Heineken.

Poured into an Imperial pint glass. Clear gold appearance, no head or lacing.
Smell not offensive but not inviting, either. Can't believe there is no corn involved, here.

Thin mouthfeel. Fist sip is not too bad, but rapidly becomes cloyingly sweet.

Couldn't finish half the glass - Newest drain pour of 2014.

I bought a can of this at beers of the world in Rochester new York. To start off, not great head retention. Light gold color with little bubbles. The Aroma was a bit week, but non offensive. It is easy going down and not bad for a summer day. It is also not a bad chugging brew.

Pours light golden beer with decent 2-finger white head, actually good retention.
Smell is fresh, malty, rather sweet, something close to produce from ukrainian Persha. Taste is rather bland, malt, hops forgotten. Moderate carbonation, medium body. Faceless macrocrappremium lager
