3.13/5  rDev +3%
look: 3.5 | smell: 2.5 | taste: 3 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Comes in a green bottle with a freshness date. Moose logo and quip about how the brewery is proudly independent. Pours with a decent inch of head that sustains decently but sadly doesn't lace very much. Beer itself is a clear gold color with clear signs of carbonation.

Smell: A little bit skunky but I've certainly experienced worse. Has a corn and grain scent to it with undertones of lemon and mild hops. If it wasn't for the skunk, it would get a 3. Nothing special, but nothing bad.

Taste: Taste is well distinctly average. Starts with a corn flavour and then transitions to the hops and grain, which come off just bitter enough. Ends with a little bit more grain tamed with a little bit of lemon. Nothing special here, but once again nothing bad.

Mouthfeel - Carbonation is excellent and doesn't get carried away. Practically no unpleasant aftertaste, as what you do get disappears fast. Doesn't leave the mouth dry, nor like you just drank water. Not bad, whatsoever.

Drinkability - The beer goes down smoothly, the taste doesn't linger, feels good and tastes what you'd expect from a beer. My only problem is, it does seem to cause a little bit of bloating which hamstrings it's drinkability.

Final Thoughts - For the most part, this beer is slightly above average. It's nothing worthy going out of your way for, but it's also not a bad choice. Really, I find myself drinking this beer because I don't have a more interesting option and I feel it's certainly a step up from the standard macro offerings.

Appearance – Light yellow and very clear with some active carbonation. The head came up nicely but did a James Brown on me and was gone in a flash.

Smell – This one smelled like a farting skunk that ate rice for dinner.

Taste – This was horrid. The rice is subtle and is mixed with a pukish Sweet-N-Low sugary substance.

Mouthfeel – I kind of like the mouthfeel to this one. The carbonation isn’t bad, and it goes down smoother than most.

Drinkability – I can’t believe that I used to like this beer.

This beer was ok but something about it did not really agree with me. It poured your standard macro lager color with a bit of a white frothy head that faded quick but left decent lace on my glass. The smell was overly sweet with malt and grain. The flavor was way too sweet and had little to no bitterness to balance it out. The grain flavors snuck in as well but the overly sweet flavor dominated too much. Not recommended at all.

The "poor" smell is for the semi-occasional skunky bottle. Otherwise, a very drinkable golden brew with a decently clean finish. Good lawnmower beer. And I've yet to find a beer that, in all seriousness, causes people to belch as much as Moosehead. Is it the carbonation? I have no idea.

Pours a very pale, straw-like color with lots of bubbles rising to the surface. Minimal head. Not a heck of a lot of aroma...some faint grains, and a weird, almost skunky smell. Taste is also not very impressive or even shows much flavors except some light grains and adjunct flavors. Finishes with an off flavor. Lots of carbonation, very prickly, crisp. Grab something else if it's available.

Presentation: 12 oz green bottle with no freshness date. Blurb about the brewery and a bit of history on the back label.

Appearance: Shaded yellowish straw hue, tiny bubbled carbonation that forms a thin blanketing white lace.

Smell: Fresh milled grain and the sweetness of a malted barley mash as well as clean boiled hops come to mind, pretty much what an American lager should smell like.

Taste: Crisp medium carbonation with a moderate malty body and a smooth and inviting mouth feel. Malt is straight up one sided which is goes well with this beers disposition, clean on the palate … almost immaculate. Hops are sharp and to the point with their quick in and out bitterness. Fresh drying grain pulls any sweetness away from the tongue and puckers the mouth into a clean after taste of little residual.

Notes: A clean and quick to drink lager, better than its US counterpart while leaving a touch more quality without taking away from the swift drinkability of most American lagers.

This is THE Canadian beer in my book. It's definately a mass produced beer, but the quality shows through. It is average to above average in all respects. Pours medium yellow with a good head. The taste is malty with decent hoppiness. Has a crisp, distinct flavor. A little skunk did not deter the experience. I liked this. I wish all macros tasted this good. I have also tried this from a keg and it is excellent. OH CANADA!!!

12 oz bottle pours a pale, canary yellow body, with an attractive, white head that has minimal retention. Active carbonation is apparent.

Aroma: Euroskunk(Saaz?) hops are first to the nose. Very akin to a Heineken, but not as harsh thanks to a mild, malt presence.

Mouthfeel is dry, light bodied, and well carbonated.

Taste is dry lemongrass with an herbal bitterness. Biscuity malt adds to the dryness, and contributes some doughiness.

Not a bad pale lager. Too Euroskunky and doughy to have more than a couple.

This beer is probably underappreciated because it goes down so quickly.

It's wet, grassy, cannabisy, and slightly hoppy to the nose. Lots of little bubbles meet the palate and then, it starts off dry, gets citrusy, and turns flowery before it ends with spice.

Heineken and Stella Artois should taste like this should taste like this, but they don't, not in North America, anyway.

This is one of the best beers of its mass-produced type.
