Cracked Canoe is a 3.5% ABV refreshing beverage with all of the taste of a 5% lager, but only 90 calories and less of the alcohol content. I enjoyed the CC I had at lunch the other day, because I was able to come back to work clear headed. I think the packaging is very tasteful, and the beer was easy to drink, and had the full flavour I like in a lager beer.

Cracked Canoe is a premium light lager that has a crisp, clean finish. It's light color and taste make it easy to drink. I sometimes add a lime to it and love drinking it on the boat in the summer time.
Give it a try if you like light tasting beer / low cal.

For what this beer is; being low in alcohol and calories; it has a surprisingly amount of good flavour. This must be due to the fact that the beer is slow-brewed. I would drink this beer over any other light beer as it has more flavour and you can casually drink a few of these and still be drinking something with some flavour.

I had this in a bottle a couple weeks ago, after carrying fourty twelve packs of them for a local arts establishment, I got it for free, but it costs about $12 for a 6-pack.
Appearance - it comes in a green bottle, black label with simple white imagery. In terms of packaging it seems very trendy and well-marketed, well-done but not my thing. It pours a very pale yellow colour, with a pure white head, reminiscent of vernor's, but even paler in colour. Not a beer I like, but it fits the style, so it gets a 3.
Smell - rather plain, not any bread-like smell like some other lagers I've had, but instead has some corny smell to it. also had very little yeasty smell to it. This also fits the style, so while not good it still gets a 3.
Taste - not much to it, there was some bitterness at the end, and I think some minimal "citrus", or maybe "green apple" like sweet taste to it before that - I think I was just thinking of it because the bottle was green. It finished very cleanly and kinda left me wanting more. This stuff was pretty watery and bland, buyt again that's the style, flavour is bad for light beer I guess, so it gets a 4 because it's exactly like it's light brethren.
Mouthfeel - a lot like perrier or tonic water or club soda, just water with some fizzy carbonation in it. Again, not very good, but it suits the style pretty darn well, so it gets a 4.
Drinkability - In line with my own tastes, it's only drinkable in the sense that it's so bland and watery it doesn't go down with any fuss. In short, if you or your girlfriend don't like tasting beer, but want to be social, buy this stuff. If you're looking for something that can be described as more than "beeresque", don't go near this stuff.

Appearance: Fairly standard lager gold, not as light as I'd expect it to be. Good carbonation in the body and it produced a finger of head that didn't lace and barely retained.
Smell: Average and if it weren't a light beer it would be scored lower. Straw like malt, a touch of earthy hops that comes off a bit mossy because of a slight undertone of skunk. Not bad, nothing great and stronger then most light beers.
Taste: Pretty much standard macro lager taste. Hay like malt with a touch of corn, that turns into a slight touch of earthy hops. Once again, not bad for a light beer, but nothing to write home about and it may come off as watery to some.
Mouthfeel: Well the carbonation is done well that the transitioning is smooth, but it does cloy a little bit too much. I'd give it 3.25 if I could, but it falls on the lower end of the scale, mainly because of my earlier generosity.
Drinkability: This beer fairs very well as a guzzler, and it's really designed for hot summer days. No issues getting it down, no issues with gas or bloating and refreshing in extreme.
Final Thoughts: Well, this one fared far better then I thought it would, and I did enjoy it more the Moosehead Light, mainly because it seems simpler and not just a watered down version of Moosehead. Still, there are many better beers out there, so save your money on this one.

A: Pours a clear golden yellow with a finger worth of bright white fizzy head. Settles to a ring around the glass and left a little bit of lacing.
S: Grainy and a faint smell of cooked veggies. Typical macro beer smell.
T: Pretty light taste but for the most part it’s just grainy.
M: Light to medium carbonation with a light body.
O: If you’re looking for a beer with a little less calories and lower alc. Then look here. Otherwise there isn’t a whole lot of reasons to drink this.

A - Poured very pale yellow with a thin layer of white head.
S - Almost no nose. A very subdued bready sweetness is evident and not much else.
T. Slight bready malt taste. Watery. Very slight hop presense in background.
M - Light body. Moderate carbonation.
O - Not a great beer, for for 3.5% ABV, could have been a lot worse.

Bottle: pours a pale gold lager with a small fast disappearing cap, weak lacing.
Weak nose: light cereals, grain husk mustiness little else.
Weak, not mild, but weak character, watery mouth feel, flavor is weak as well, barely detectable cereals but hops are indefinable, fast clean watery finish.
Perhaps it was unfair throwing this one into a tasting with large beers and fresh micro fare but I don't think I'm interested enough in this lame offering to give it another try.

Tried this one at Jack's in Kingsville.
Crystal clear and pale yellow with fizzy bubbles and a thin collar of white foam. Weak aroma, some malt and grain, faint fruitiness, maybe a bit grassy. The flavour had some grainy sweetness, bitterness was quite low, and there were hints of fruity esters and spicy hops, but it all came off on the thin and watery side. Light bodied, carbonation was a little on the high side making it feel somewhat sharp rather than crisp. It really didn't have a lot of character, but it wasn't a disaster either.
