On-tap 7/20/2015 at British Beer Company, in Walpole, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a bright orange/amber color with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains fruity citrus, floral hops and caramelized malts.
T: The taste starts out with a strong burst of piney hops bitterness. Then some sweet flavors of citrus and caramel come in. The malt character is hearty and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a hazy golden color with a finger’s worth of white foaminess of head that must linger for at least a good full minute before dissipating. Messy foamy lacing rings around the glass. The smell had a sharp citrus rind, slight lemon, somewhat orange, slight piney hops and a bright floral quality combines nicely. The taste was mostly bitter with light sweet citrus aspects trying to balance. There’s a semi-sweet to slight bitter citrus to pine aftertaste that leads to a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good as an APA. Dry bitterness leaves a harsh feel roaming around my tongue. Overall, this was a good APA I could come back to.

From the 650 ml. bottle. Bottled January 2016. Sampled June 16, 2016.
The pour is hazy orange-amber with a lingering off-white head.
The aroma tends to bring forth bread dough and herbal hops.
Medium body.
I think this was a bit too old because the hops had faded and this became more of a malt bomb. Hard to rate it with an open mind.

Recently we were able to try this beer both bottled and on tap. The description of HPA is spot on as the beer is extrememly hoppy, and has a crisp, citrus taste. It is very smooth, and the flavor is strong without being over-bearing. Overall a delicious beer that we look forward to enjoying more as distribution spreads through Massachusetts!
