I am not sure if they consider this an English IPA or other. From my guess on the hops in it, I thought this would be a good category.
Was more of a hazy gold than I was expecting from an IPA. Perhaps a bit hazy from dry hopping? No head, just a bit of lacing.
Had nice hope scents, bit of grass.
Nice hoppy flavor, but a terrific balance of hops and malt. Nice "earthy" hops(not sure the best description, but not the citrus hops so many use now), complex flavors.
Medium mouth feel. Not too watery, but not thick either.
Very drinkable,and enjoyable.

poured from a growler (bottled two days ago) into a pint glass
A - Pours a perfectly transparent coppery gold with no carbonation rising to the dense, off-white, three-finger head. Head stays intact all the way down the glass. Leaves behind substantial splotches and rings of lacing.
S - A fair amount of sweet caramel malt with a little bit of mango and peach.
T - A little bit of beach apricot upfront. The body has a relaxed, balance blend of caramel malt and peach-mango notes. Smooth ride as the beer passes over the back of the tongue and transitions into a dry, bitter-peach finish with a hint of perfume.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Becomes more chewy and mouthfeel improves as the beer warms.
High Desert brewing has created a mellow, dry and fruity IPA that would make an excellent season beer that in no way "knocks my socks off" as the website claims. I'd like to see a little more flavor and a firmer mouthfeel, but this isn't too bad for a little dive bar in the middle of a neighborhood in southern New Mexico.
Note: I thoroughly enjoyed there Barley Wine as well, though not the porter or the peach wheat my wife got.

Definitely not retired.
A: Served a copper color with a small head with a bit of lacing.
S: Aroma was primarily of pine with a hint of citrus.
T: Starts with a nice hop tang. Flavor of some citrus and a bit of biscuit. Quite refreshing.
F: fairly medium body, crisp and clean. Seems to be well balanced.
D: Very drinkable. Enjoyed enought to get a growler to take with me.

I drank High Desert's India Pale Ale in the spring of 2010, so if they retired this one, they replaced it with an American IPA. I thought it was better than any IPA brewed in the Pacific Northwest, and better than all but 6 to 12 California IPAs. India Pale Ale is listed on their website http://www.highdesertbrewingco.com today.

This had a decent, off-white head with low retention. It was a deep amber color with NE-quality clarity. It had a good hoppy, floral nose. The mouthfeel was medium with lots of hops on the palate. The finish was also hoppy, but with a slightly malty off set. This was a solid version of the American IPA.
