Presentation: Brown glass bottle 660 ml with freshness date on the front neck.
I was very disappointed by this beer. one of the elements was simply to strong, I couldn't put my finger on it but the taste was off, too malty, hoppy or something. Aside from that, it is your run of the mill beer nothing special.

Third and final lager in my lager reviewing evening, won hands down against the other two (Quilmes from Argentina and Casablanca from Morroco).
I think this is really the Zipfer normal beer, both are 5.4%. The label mentions Original Import, but it is most likely the same beer.
330ml brown bottle, poured into one of my Veltins Pilsner stemmed glasses. It looked very good, deep golden yellow with a large white head which stayed through the drink.
No aroma worthy of note, gets my standard lager 3 for smell.
Crisp, sharp and tangy, a good lager feel and taste to it. Glad I had it last of the three beers in the tasting, it was a lot better than the others. I remember trying it at a Bier Borse in Germany many years ago, it was good then too.

A-Pours a really pale straw color similar to that of pear juice with a two finger head.
S-Quite a bit of corn and grain in the nose with a hint of herbal hops.
T-A hit of dry grain and a little corn with a sharp hit of corn and grain on the finish with maybe a hint of bitterness.
M-Really light bodied with medium to high carbonation and a very drying mouthfeel.
D-The dryness of this beer is almost too much for me, but otherwise a relatively easy drinking beer with not too much going on.

Poured a 1 finger head...strawish yellow in colour, looks just too watered down.
Carbonation was a little fizzy & spritey, but held the head for a while with some lacing all the way down.
The aroma was just too much like a yucko VB...not really sweet, with only a hint of malt. It smelled just like your run of the mill beer you find on tap at any Aussie pub (thirst-quencher) that u only want to slam down - very mainstream.
Taste was very light, & mouthfeel was as spritey as it looked. Only a hint of malt & not too much bitterness. Nt much going for this, unless you like your cordial watered down.
Naaah!!!! don't reckon i'll ever choose to have this again!

[Eyes] Strange botle design looks like a mexican cooler bottle, Brillant yellow color, the head is white and cool in the principle but not creamy.
[Nouse] Good malty aroma but where is the hop?
[Mouth] Fresh, good carbonation the taste flavor is smooth.

A pale yellow body with a thin fizzy white head, medium carbonation , no lacing. Aroma is light with a little corn, honey and some citrus hops . Flavor is lightly sweet with a hint of lemony hops , quite balanced , light body , thin mouthfeel ,with a slightly dry short lemony finish . Quite sessionable , not too bad ,but I don't think I would buy this again.

I've been living in beautiful Korea, beer hell, for the past few weeks when I discovered a vendor selling the most beautiful thing a beer lover can set eyes on: non-korean beer!! I bought it, didnt wait for the change and ran home to imbibe the foreign brew. Alas, it didnt live up to standards that have been diminished by desperation. The color is an unispiring yellow, with a white fizzy head. The nose is malty, but week and boring. The mouthfeel is, while not awful, not something that look forward to lingering over. The taste is fruity and mildly bitter, but without any heft or depth. I suppose it would be refreshing on a hot day and one only had access to either this, budweiser, or lava.

Pale golden yellow, with modest and short head, showing almost no bubbling when chilled.
Smell is light, almost unnoticed, with no specific qualities; dull.
Pricky sem-sisweet taste with moderate amount of barley and hops, nothing special.
Somehow overcarbonated, leaving metallic taste and a feeling of dry emptiness in mouth.
A bit of disappointment, regarding that I'm usually fond of Austrian lager/pilsner beers.

Pours a super clear light yellow, with a medium white head. Very Industrial lager looking. Smells of freshly cut grass and sulfur. Taste has a light malty flavor, with a nice bitterness in the finish. A bit sweeter than your average Euro Lager. Mouthfeel is thin, high carbonation. This is the beers lowest point. Very drinkable though, as these types of beer usually are. This beer is better than a US macro lager, IMO, but it does not stand up to the better Czech or German style Pilsners.

I bought a single 1 PT. 6.31FL OZ. bottle from Binny's Beverage Depot in Plainfield, IL for $2.69 on Fall 2011.
Pours a pale yellow color with a fluffy white head. Does contain some obvious floating particles. Scent is that of dry grassy grains. The taste has taste of yeast, dry grassy grains, and some sour bread hints. It starts out with a stronger taste that diminishes rather quickly making it rather weak. The volume is also a little too thin. This is basically a bolder slighly more tastier version of Heineken. Something from a new country but rather simple and usual.

Half litre bottle. A: Very pale, tiny head, faded, no
lacing, very clear. S: Some noble hop, Hallertau,
Saaz? Some musty grain, bit of malt. T: Bready
bitterness, notes of fruit, slight sweetness
balanced it out. M: Well carbonated, coarse,
heavy body and thick texture for the style. O: Very
much like a south German pils, a thirst quencher,

The beer pours a clear golden color with a cap of white foam. The lightly toasted malt begets a bready aroma along with some grassy notes. Maltiness in the flavor moves across the palate and finishes with the slightest amount of bitterness. There is nothing wrong with the flavor here, but it is a tad thin.

11.2 oz brown bottle. Freshness code stamped on front label.
Served in a Sam Adams fluted glass.
It pours a hazy pale gold color with a medium-sized pure white head and some trailing and sticky lace.
A nice herbal grassy smell rises up. A light smell of doughy bread mingles with a mild resinous and floral hop.
The flavors are in harmony and very balanced. Light roasted malt and floral and metallic hops meld together with a very faint vodka-like alcoholic vapor.
The mouthfeel is slightly more raspy than the style calls for, though certainly not out of line.
A good beer for brats and kraut.

33 cl bottle at restaurant "Tyrolen" at amusement park "Liseberg" in Gothenburg, Sweden. Tried it on April 29, 2006.
The bottle said "Zipfer Glas Heller Freude Original Import".
Also heard that "Zipfer Urtyp" is supposed to be the same thing, but under a different name.
Light yellow color, big white fuzzy head.
Very little scent, malty.
Very low bitterness.
A bit fruity mixed with malty taste.
Works with the Austrian cousine we had, but doesn't have enough taste for me.

Sexy hourglass shaped 500mL bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors in Manchester CT for $3.29. Best before end: L164K.407:09. (wtf kind of calendar do they use?) Served cold in a chilled pint glass.
Clear straw yellow brew generates a ton of carbo that sticks to the inside of the glass. The 3/4" of fizzy white head settles to a somewhat thick layer that leaves a few spots of short-lived lace. Smell has some bright lemon sweetness and a mild dusty malt. Taste is fairly sweet and is like moldy lemon rind and musty wet hay. A little funky, it could be an old bottle but I don't think that's the problem. (Too bad I can't tell for sure due to the Ferengi stardate calendar apparently referenced by the brewer.) Mouthfeel is light and not too fizzy. Finishes with some lingering sweetness, mildew, and a metallic twang that's still there several minutes later.
Dusty dry mouthfeel but sweet taste. Odd in an unflattering way.

A - Pours with one and a half fingers of white foam that rests on top of a brilliantly clear, straw colored body. The head settles quickly and leaves little lace.
S - A musty aroma of European hops with some grainy malt and a little bit of sulphur.
T - Light, sweet malt with some honey and bread notes. Moderate, earthy hop flavor in the middle followed by a malty, but dry finish with some graham cracker notes and moderate bitterness.
M - Medium-light body, moderately high carbonation, and a dry finish.
D - I was expecting a light macro lager, but this is more of a Helles, almost a pilsner. There is a nice level of rich malt character and plenty of musty, spicy continental hop character. Light and refreshing with excellent balance, this should be consumed by the liter.
