Live review. Poured from the I Pt., 9.4 oz bottle that I bought at the brewery about one month ago for around $9. DOB 10/02/15 stamped near the bottom of the bottle.

Look. Translucent yellow body under a rather basic white head that does not linger very long. Actually reminded me of a Budweiser at first glance. Meh.

Smell. Requisite belgian yeast and sweet malt rise up. I do not detect any of the Green Coffee beans or Orange peel mentioned on the label. Slight disappointment so far.

Taste. Really rather basic for the style although I taste coriander and grains along with the sweet malt and Belgian yeast that your average Tripel will feature. I have tasted more than 50 Tripels so I believe that I know what they are supposed to taste like.

Feel. Tripel is not supposed to be a "thick" style but this one is even more thin than most. There is the syrupy goodness that you would expect, again, from the sweet malt but this feel is below normal.

Overall. Unimpressed. While this is to style (and it is my favorite style) there are many aspects of it that leave me wanting more.

Notes: Picked this up at the brewery for a approx. 20% discount vs. retail. That was nice but there are better Tripels available at your average craft beer bottle shop. Looks like I will return to other favorites from Southern Tier!

Bought 2 bottles from Southtown Beverages on 3/26/16. Served chilled in a Duvel tulip.

Look: Clear apple amber, white head, traces of lacing.

Smell: Spiced apple like

Taste: Muddy jumble of fruit and coffee

Feel: ok. I guess.

Overall: this one doesn't work for me at all
