A- Weak yellow, like a filtered wheat is

S- Grassy, faint lemon notes

T- Not much happening, light bodied, easy drinking doesn't linger

M- Normal lighter than what I want in a wheat beer

O- This beer reminds me very much of 312 Urban Wheat, which I guess they are similar lighter wheat beers. Just didn't much flavor at all from this one.

Clear w/ pillowy head. Good nose of mild citrus, spice & bready malt. First notes of pine, lemongrass followed by notes that are crisp, tangy from yeast & wheat. Fine bitterness, cracker-like + carbonation that enhances the smooth mouthfeel of this brew. A very good American wheat style.

Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a minimal white head that leaves a bit of lacing as it recedes.

Aromas begin with some subdued honey/pale malt sweetness with some emerging semi-sour wheat malt notes. The hops add a solid dose of lemon pith and generic citrus.

The tastes begin with a tangy wheat maltiness with some definite citrus notes from the hops coming through. Sweeter malt falvors emerge as it warms but luckily the citrus hops stay strong into the finish to balance the flavor profile.

The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with medium carbonation. Finish is mildly bitter and semi-sweet but mainly freshing and quite crisp.

Overall this is a solid summer, sessionable hoppy wheat beer. Nothing too revolutionary and I think the wheat and pale malt sweetness are a bit distracting. They take away from being able to identify the hop aromas and flavors and while I normally enjoy a nice balance in my beers, session beers needs to stand out in one way or another of just come across borning and weak bodied.

From 08/21/12 notes. Had on tap at Stag's Head in NYC during their ST event.

a - Pours a bright yellow color with one inch of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of wheat, grains, bready malts, floral hops, and some earthy notes. Pretty nice nose, like the floral hops.

t - Tastes of lemongrass, citrus hops, floral hops, wheat, grains, bready malts, earthy malts, and toasted malts. Lot of citrus here which I like a lot; a step up from the nose for me.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Body is pretty smooth.

o - Overall a nice wheat beer. Ton of citrus in the taste which is awesome, and easy to drink. A nice, easy drinking summer beer.

Served on tap at Cork City Pub in Hoboken, NJ

A: Pours a crystal clear pale straw yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of carbonation. The beer has a quarter finger tall bright white head that quickly reduces to a small patch of very thin film and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: A very mild aroma of wheat along with some grassy and floral hops. There is a light amount of sweetness and some lemon/citrus notes as well.

T: Taste is very similar to the smell with some sweet wheat malt body, light lemon/citrus, and some hints of grassy + floral hops. Overall, a very light flavored brew.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin with some light dryness in the finish.

O: A very easy to drink and enjoyable summer beer, went down quite easily on a warm summer evening at the local pub (with the windows open and fresh air). Easily sessionable and one I would likely get another time.

The beer pours like a clear, filtered, american lager; a straw yellow color with 10 seconds of a loose, white head...that definitely doesn't lace. The nose is sweet and slightly floral, but the hops are all in the taste and mouthfeel. Initial sweetness from the malt casts a light, lingering bitterness that remains floral and balanced. The mouth is slightly watery and it's definitely a drinkable summer ale. Once the beer warms it becomes even more lager-like with a bigger, fruitier backbone from the malt/wheat and almost no spice... Don't drink this beer if you're looking for hops.

Poured on-tap and served in a weisse vase, the beer is a bright, vibrant, honey-gold color with a steady flow of carbonation and a light, fluffy, off-white head about a half an inch in height. Aromas are subtle, with a roasted grain and slight hop blending. Flavors are much more pronounced, with a heavy toasted backbone giving rise to a light, citrus and floral hops profile. Tangy, crisp mouthfeel at the end of the brew, with a roasty and hoppy aftertaste. Very interesting dynamic. The finish is astringent and slightly sharp, with a slight linger. Good, tasty brew that gives a different vibe to a Wheat beer.

Light gold in color with fervent carb pushing tons of bubbles to the surface to support a meager half-inch white head. It eventually petered-out to no head and hardly a rising bubble. 3.0

Faint nose with light grassy hops and very mellow lemony wheat malt. 3.0

Slightly tangy flavor with clean European hops that sneak through. Very light and pale malts with a pilsner-like finish. Still a little juicy in the end with a crisp starfruit vibe. A very humble ale that's far from busy or unbalanced. Very simple and nice. 4.0

Medium-high carbonation almost creates a rushing spiciness that is almost a flavor. Tingling. Light-bodied, in a good way. 4.0

Absolutely refreshing. A jewel among beers of the style. Best kept simple and served cold. 4.0

On tap at The Red Hot in Tacoma on 5/11/12.

Appearance: Slightly hazy yellow-gold. Minimal head that left a bit of lacing along the glass.

Smell: Citrus hops, lemon zest, and distinct wheat character.

Taste: Follows the nose nicely with lots of citrus flavors and a smooth what backbone. Finishes nicely with a mild citrus hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Very light, low carbonation, and easy to drink.

Overall: Simple, well-done all day summer BBQ beer.

I had this as part of the tap takeover at Cloverleaf tonight. They made a great showing with a significant amount of options. When you look at the tap handles, it is very telling how many great beers that ST has put out.

I had this beer after the Oak Aged Pumking. That beer had a pretty high ABV, and I couldn't handle the high ABV's for two beers in a row.

That being said, this is a very good summer beer on it's own. This is a very light, wheat beer. The coloring is a pale yellow with minimal inclusions. The head and carbonation are very light.

I like the smell and taste of this beer. It is refreshing and simple. I think this would make for a great one to drink on a warm summer evening.

Golden clear in color with a frothy head.
Smells a hint of hops but nothing to strong in the nose.
Crisp and light, hint of bitter. Floral flavors . This is a good summer beer that is easily drinkable, but I don't notice anything that makes me like it more than just a average beer. This is really just an average beer .

A: clear yellow gold. Fleeting white head dissipates to a collar of lace.
S:some lemony citrus and light tropical fruit along with biscuity, crackery malts.
T: lightly sweet bready malts are balanced out by a smooth hop bitterness, maybe a slight lemony twang from the wheat.
M: light bodied, crisp and frothy.
O: I like the american hop presence and lack of a big presence from the wheat or yeast. Sort of a poor man's gumballhead.

A - Clear yellow with a one finger head that has decent retention and lacing down the glass. Good look considering style.

S - Bright hops in the aroma with tangerine and floral notes, with some grainy wheat in the background.

T - Nice melding of flavors with light citrus hops followed by a slight wheat twang in the middle, finishing with a lingering caramel sweetness in the aftertaste.

M - Light body, medium carb level. Feels nice and smooth across the palate. I was expecting a highly carbed beer, but this works nicely. Finishes mostly crisp and clean.

O - I'm not a fan of the style overall, but this drank very well on a hot day. I'd get it again.

One of the seasonal selections at Pints in Elmhurst, IL. Served in a standard pint glass, the beer is slightly dark gold with a thickish white head and pretty nice lacing.

It has an aroma of malts, citrus. I thought this part of the beer could be turned up a notch.

The taste is slightly sweet with some lemon rind. There are also crackers and a touch of lemon grass. A bit more hops late.

The mouth is crisp with very active carbonation.

All-in-all a pretty decent beer.

Southern Tier : Hop Sun

Pours a hazy straw. Bone white head and lots of lace. Smells like a wheat beer, a little citrus hops too. In the flavor, wheat malt and a nice rind like bitterness. All the sweetness attributed to the wheat malt and yeast are bastardized by American hop additions (bittering variety). Tastes like a bitter pale wheat ale overall. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a sharp hop bite. Overall, a pretty interesting mesh of styles. If you like hops and wheat this beer is for you.

Golden pour, small amount of white head. Sticks very well.

Pale malt, grass, light herbal hop aroma.

Light body, active carbonation. Easy drinking, just what I was looking for after hitting some gold balls.

On tap at Capital Ale House in Glen Allen, VA - weiss glass

Pours a kind of lame yellow, totally clear, not much head. Kind of looks like a cider. Smells awesome! It's a provocative balance of hops and wheaty banana.. So interesting on the nose. Taste is shazam. Perfect brew. So sessionable it's ridiculous.. I'm not so good with words, but if you happen to be reading this, get some for your buddies that drink blue moon and hate IPAs.. perfect transition beer!

Love it.

On-tap at The Happy Gnome.

Served in a pint glass, this one is cloudy and bright yellow in color. A clean white cap of foam that is creamy looking and delivers some nice lacing.

Wheaty and citrusy smell. Reminds me of summer!

The taste can only be described as lemon Fruit Loops. There is a wheat presence with loads of lemon citrus that adds a little bitterness. There is a mild sweetness, but the overall flavor still reminds me of the lemon rings found in Fruit Loops cereal.

Smooth, light-medium body, mildly creamy and crisp.

I think this is a really enjoyable seasonal beer. I would pick this up again, especially when the weather heats up.

not a particularly wheat malt developed american wheat. Pour is golden orange and almost clear. Nose is a subtle grapefruit. And a palate that seems more hear to express hop freshness and anything but creamy hef traits. Although it has a nice brisk american blonde quality. Its not protein finish husky. Some centennial hop bitter. Poor malt core, but bright.

This beer poured a golden color with a good sized head that lasted throughout the beer. It had a pleasten smell very light just a little bit of hops, a good wheat smell too. The tasted had just a hint of hops, a strong wheat like taste, maybe a hint of citruis too. A lighter flavor made it easy to drink. Overall a really nice beer espically on a hot day.

I have been waiting to try this one for a long time.

The appearance was quite pleasing. Golden colored and surprisingly not as cloudy as most wheat beers. The head was nice and soapy, albeit small, and retained itself nicely.

The smell was extremely citrusy. Lemon, orange, and pine were all noticeable on the nose. I had a feeling this one would be hoppy and I wasn't wrong. Light on the malts.

All the aroma's came out in the taste. There was a refreshing crispness that satisfied. It was one hell of a hot day so this was extremely welcome. The brew is pretty well carbonated but I found it to be fairly sessionable.

On the hole I would have to say this is up there with my favorite summer beers. I wasn't disappointed at all.

Now I know why this was served to me with a orange, it's a wheat ale. In a pint glass.

Looks crazy refreshing with a yellow somewhat orange look thats easy to see through. Got a nice foamy head on top that did not manage to stick to the glass, but it lasted throughout the pint.

Smell is heavy on the lemon and orange peel, a nice amount of wheat and a somewhat cereal smell afterwards. Pale malts are gentle, summer beer basically.

Wheat and lemongrass up front with some orange and pale malt backing. It's pretty simple and gets boring after 8oz's or so. I get alot of malt and minimal grain afterwards. I like the beginning with the lemon.

Very thin and easy drinking beer here, thin bodied as you can see from appearence. A nice prick from the carb but this is overall smooth. No trace of alcohol, this is pretty tame. Not really my thing but it was enjoyable to a degree.
