When you named your beer "Extraordinary Ale", it had better live up to it. I had this last winter but now have a chance to review it out of the "Pack of Pales" mix pack. Here goes.
A - Pours a dark hazy golden color with little head that dissipated quickly.
S - Smells of citrus hops. I am also picking up some malt but this is not a very aromatic beer.
T - Citrus hops and toasty malts! Really quite enjoyable. Simple ale. I am also getting the grapefruit and pineapple notes noticed in other reviews.
M - A smooth beer but kind of bland feeling, and watery. Very light bodied, not overly carbonated.
D - This is a pretty mild pale ale, and would make a terrific session beer.
Overall, this isn't really that extraordinary. I enjoy the ST Pale Ale much more than this, as it is much more flavorful. A good APA that is a bit on the light side and unfortunately doesn't live up to its name. Not terrible but not "extraordinary."
