First had a taste of this offering at a Stoudt's fest last year, and very happy to find it in bottles finally. This one pours a very cloudy, honey-orange hue with a relatively thick frothy white head. Hop aromas come through immediately, with notes of pine and citrus, while a hint of butterscotch lingers in the background. The taste is initially sweet with caramel, honey and buttery notes, followed by a refreshingly dry orange and grapefruit flavors, ending with a tangy and bitter finish. The hops are just right here for the style, without any real harsh bitterness. There's another interesting flavor that comes through the more I drink... I swear it's maple.
Overall, a very drinkable, balanced, somewhat complex and interesting, but somehow still smooth brew. Definetely one though hard to find (at least where I am), well worth seeking out.
