Growler from the Northbridge Pig blowout sale. Poured into a Duvel tulip...
A: Pours black and heavy; thin layer of khaki foam forms on the pour, but provides no retention, nor lace.
S: Dark malt aroma; thick caramel; chocolate; oatmeal aroma, too; very textured aroma; perhaps some soy sauce, too.
T: Dark, syrupy malts; molasses; pronounced oatmeal flavor; very sweet... not much hop presence.
M: Full and textured; thick; low carbonation... basically, exactly what you'd hope for with an imperial oatmeal stout.
O: A big beer. Perhaps too sweet... I think I'll stick to "regular strength" oatmeal stouts!
