Sort of getting the bug to start reviewing again. Why not start with this one? Picked up a bomber today, bottled about 3 weeks ago.

I do feel obligated to note that my experience of this beer differs rather significantly from the brewery's tasting notes on the label. That said…

The aroma reminds me of fresh oranges with a little bubblegum and the flavor follows suit – juicy and sweet. Not too much real malt flavor – a little caramel – but the malt here is mostly contained to sweetness and body. The bitterness is mild, late, and short-lived, leaving a rather balanced beer across the board. This is no hop-bomb.

This golden-colored DIPA is a "soft" take on the style, which is both unusual and a little oxymoronic. I'd keep it in mind for certain occasions; perhaps a good candidate for a dessert IPA (I hear they're good with carrot cake).

Too malty for my taste, probably meant to hide the acohol, not a fan or overly malty beers. Not impressive. Their 2XIPA is much better, but their IPA is their best.

Some very odd yeasty tastes that I didn't care for. This was horrible after it warmed up a bit, but not bad at first.

Pours a slightly hazy deep copper, close to amber, similar to the Gemini I had yesterday, half finger of off white head, decent lacing so far

Smell is Kiwi, some sour apple?, pine, sweet sweet malt with caramel and toffee making an appearance, pineapple and a good herbal sweetness

Taste is Kiwi, papaya, soured citrus, caramel apple, toffee, herbal tea bitterness

Mouthfeel is full, sticky and oily, not as dry as your average DIPA but still dry

Good DIPA Definitely tastes like a amped up version of 2xipa I would be interested to know if they use the same hops and malts in both beers, either way wish I could get this in 6ers like that one!
