Poured into my Witte tumbler glass. Very little head sits on top of a deep yellow liquid that has hints of honey color at its thickest cross section in the glass. Very light carbonation. I smell a sweet wheat base with a generous portion of hops. Maybe dry hopped from the way it bites when I smell it. I also definitely smell the booze. This smells hot. The mouthfeel is very thick and creamy in this beer. The heavy malt and slick wheat makes it very thick for such a light colored beer. It doesn't taste nearly as hot as the smell indicated. The hops are also quite a bit more balanced. Wow this is really smooth. It starts out thick and sweet with a turn of bitterness and grassy hops. The hops extinguish the esters and then the sweetness comes back around to finish with a full body and a 360 degree view of every angle this beer has. Very complex and well balanced profile. I have to give these guys credit. Pale wheat ales tend to be rather one-dimensional, but who would have known that if you boost the alcohol and dry hop it it can be just a complex as a DIPA or a RIS.
Well done guys. Chalk one up for NY.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but probably over 3 years old. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of honey, wheat, bread, light caramel, grapefruit, orange, floral, grass, pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt and hop notes; with solid strength. Some light oxidation is present, but not bad. Taste of honey, wheat, bread, light caramel, floral, orange, grapefruit, grass, pepper, clove, and earthy yeast spiciness. Good amount of earthy pepper spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, wheat, bread, citrus, floral, grass pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Light oxidation present in the taste as well, but not bad. Very nice balance of malt and hop flavors; with good malt/spiciness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this a very good imperial wheat beer, even with the age. Good balance of malt, hop, and spicy flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
