Poured from a bomber into a snifter.
A: Bright copper in color (think new penny). Pour yields a two finger white head that slowly dissipates into a thin sheet across the surface of the beer and a ring around the glass.
S: You can smell the pumpkin in this one. Also the expected pumpkin pie spices, brown sugar and vanilla, but somewhat subdued. The actual smell of pumpkin squash comes through. Biscuity malts mix with the cinnamon to make a graham cracker-like aroma. Great aroma.
T: Pumpkin spices step up first: nutmeg and cinnamon. Pumpkin and brown sugary sweetness follows. Finish has a surprising light hop bite that balances out the sweetness.
M: Thin for the abv. Medium body with a dry finish.
O: This is my favorite pumpkin beer. Too many pumpkin beers smell just of pumpkin spices and not like the actual fruit where this one actually finds the smell and flavors of pumpkin. This beer sets itself apart from rest. I love pumpkin beer, but this one does it best.
