Like the sunburst wood on a Les Paul, there's nearly a gradient of color, lighter gold toward the edges, orange to the middle. Just a bit of head ...
That's uniquely awesome - like freshly baked pie crust on the nose, buttery, toasted, bready, with just a hint of pumpkin.
Buttered crust, pie spice, sweetness of the pumpkin are all in great balance. The pumpkin seems relatively resigned compared to other pumpkin beers - it's not way out front. Incredibly unique - I've never had anything close to what this beer delivers. Just a hint of alcohol to close. It does though come through as very sweet, like molasses - almost too much so, making the drinkability somewhat limited.
Like pumpkin pie mousse, with similar creaminess in the mouth.
Damn tasty and like nothing I've ever had before. Highly recommended for a new take on a pumpkin. Given the sweetness, robably only enjoyable once a year though.
