I'm not sure what the brothers were thinking on this one..ha.

Nobi Public House in Webster, Texas hosted a special event yesterday and brought this out. I made time to be there to try it and a couple of other hard to get brews.

This one was easily my favorite. WOW!

I wasn't sure if I'd like having a pumpkin ale in the spring, but I'd drink this one year round. What a treat.

The smell and taste are just perfect on this beer. I love Saint Arnold Pumpkinator... and I feel this beer even leaves it behind in the pumpkin category.. though they are quite different to look at and taste even.

Overall scale of deliciousness.... EXTREMELY DELICIOUS!

So glad Southern Tier is now available in Texas!

Type: 22oz. Bomber
Vintage: 2008
Glass: Tulip

*This bottle was personally aged in my cellar for 3 years.

Pours a reddish brown mahogany in color w/ a 1/4 finger white head that leaves minimal lacing. Aromas of brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, maple, and a touch of pumpkin puree. The taste is of brown sugar/cinnamon/nutmeg up front, and closes w/ mild pumpkin in the background. Clean and crisp. I drank this bomber with ease.

Overall, age has transformed this good pumpkin beer into almost a cinnamon roll beer. Interesting how this one aged.

Big thanks to Sliverx for this one. Need it for the tick...

A: Pours a nice translucent light amber with very little head. There are just a few bubbles along the edges of the glass. No lacking as it drinks.

S: the nose is candies sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and mild banana.

T: this beer is sweet to start, a touch fruity and some mild banana. The spices come on strong next, with a big dose of nutmeg. I get some cinnamon, but this is nutmeg like whoa. The finish is sweet, spicy, and boozy.

M: medium bodied beer. It hits the palate, takes control, and moves off. I get some lingering spice and alcohol on the back end.

O: decent beer for a fall/pumpkin seasonal. But it's mega sweet (as is to be expected from southern tier), and the nutmeg can get a bit intense at points.
