Dispensed from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a very dark mohagany with ruby and violet highlights. A slight, white head tops the beer. Not much lacing to speak of. I really love the color of this one.
Aroma is of fresh, tart raspberries. A slight touch of robustiness typical in porters. This category is a tough one to judge with this beer. It is a raspberry porter; since raspberry is mentioned first, I assume the raspberry will be prominent. Not much porter in the aroma, which is okay with me.
Not much porter in the tasted either. Raspberries pretty much dominate. But it isnt a fake or artificial or overpowering berry flavor. It seems just right. I was hoping to taste a little more porter here, as it seems there is little porter in this one.
A very different beer. I enjoyed it. Fruit porters are hard to judge because one cant pick a category this beer belongs. Whatever category it is in, I like this one. Really drinkable and fruity without being sweet. Thin in the body but not watered down. Quite refreshing.

Pouring a cellar temp bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a rich dark brown with some mahogany highlights on the edges of the glass. Minimal creamy beige head foams up and remains a thin surface layer.
Aroma is mild with raspberry and chocolate almost like a fruit filled candy, maybe the fruit paste kind not the gel.
First sip reveals a very light and thin body and tiny gentle rolling carbonation.
Flavor is similar to the nose, with a mild overall profile, but I get some roasted malt and dry baker's chocolate. These flavors roll to sweet raspberry notes. Finish is also a little dry.
Not a flawed brew but not overly interesting. It held up pretty well over time, but I wonder if it was a little more bold fresh?
