Gemini is a huge double IPA with rich grapefruit pith and rind in the nose and taste, lemon and tangerine skin more pronounced in the taste, over a just-malty-enough brew to balance, with a peppery burn finish. Laces and etches the glass at each sip.
This beer really puts Southern Tier in the top tier of brewers for me: enjoyed every sip of this big assertive beer at the Black Dog in Urbana, IL. Another beer that shines on tap.

A: deep gold/pale amber ale - clear - topped with a full head of off-white foam; modest lace trails
S: muted aromas of citrus and tropical fruits; some caramel-esque sweetness
T: got some pine resin and grapefruit, toffee-sweet, earthy; not too bitter - rather moderate
M: decent carbonation, slick and smooth, medium weight, bittering close
O: decent, but didn't really catch my attention - seems like this "American strong ale" genre is rather amorphous - never know what you're gonna get - this had some DIPA characteristics, but was a little thinner in body, and even with all the hops involved, wasn't overpoweringly hoppy. An enjoyable ale, but lacking the allure to bring me back for another. Seeing as how my review is below the average, this may simply be a case of a style that, while broad, isn't (typically) to my particular tastes.
Saw two entries for this ale - hope I chose the right one.
