Picked up a bomber at Riley's here in Madison for $7.99. Have been nothing less than impressed with everything I've had from Southern Tier so far.
Pour: near black with a a finger of khaki foam, ruby highlights. Head is short lived without any discernible lacing.
Nose: luscious cocoa powder, vanilla, and powdered sugar
Taste: cocoa nibs, hot chocolate, vanilla malt, light hazelnut, with a slight alcohol pepperiness.
Mouthfeel: rich and smooth like drinking chocolate, but surprisingly not thick and cloying. Carbonation is light.
Drinkability/Overall: A decadent chocolate stout, easily rivaling that of Rogue. Insanely drinkable for 11%. Yet again, I'm left nothing but impressed with Southern Tier's Big Beer offerings.
