Solid dark brown, three-finger head, with excellent retention and lacing. Brew is a solid oily black with no light penetration at all.
Smells like a chocolate banana smoothie from the instant it's poured! Thick, milk chocolate aroma, wheat/barley, bananas, maybe even peanut butter. Tiniest hint of booze.
Slightly dry stout, heavy on powdery cocoa flavor (duh), sweet and milky flavor, with a bit of tart/grape booziness. Mouth full of chocolate and barley.
Medium-to-full bodied for a stout, fairly thick but not incredibly so, with strong retention and residue in the mouth. A little dry initially, and on the back-end, as well, as it has an almost wine-like evaporation.
This is an interesting and sweet dessert beer. The alcohol is fairly well hidden, for 10% ABV. Well worth trying.

This one pours a pure blackness that is dark as the darkest night with no moon or stars. There is a moderate thickness to the head that is rich and pillowy and tan that settles extremely slowly and leaves a shallow ring down the glass as opposed to lacing.
The nose is a fruity bourbon with notes of chocolate, coffee, anise, cardamon, vanilla, toast and raspberries.
The taste is very sharp and the alcohol has a definite bite that combines with the hops to attack the palate and dominate then gives way to a very complex smokey malt filled with a variety of flavors of smoke, bourbon, apples, bananas, coffee, chocolate, vanilla with a subtle peppery tinge in the finish.
The moutfeel is fairly creamy and the beer is a heavy one, especially for an American Stout.
Overall this is an exceptional stout that is very easy to enjoy. I found it went extremely well with some sushi.
