Poured into a snifter out of a 22oz bomber.
Pours pitch black with just a small dark tan head that fades fairly quickly to a ring around the edge of the glass.
The aroma on this beer is just heavenly. Full of milk chocolate and cocoa along with some lightly roasted coffee. It smells very sweet whick has me just a little bit concerned about what the taste holds.
The flavor isn't nearly as mind-blowing as the aroma but it is still quite nice. Milk chocolate up front but followed by more roast than what I picked up on in the aroma. Cocoa nibs, light chocolate, and burnt toast round out the flavors. Bitterness is on the high side but it helps to balance out the immense sweetness.
Overall, an excellent beer and one of the best Imperial Stouts that use chocolate to a great extent. Not too sweet and an wonderful dessert beer.

This one pours a pure blackness that is dark as the darkest night with no moon or stars. There is a moderate thickness to the head that is rich and pillowy and tan that settles extremely slowly and leaves a shallow ring down the glass as opposed to lacing.
The nose is a fruity bourbon with notes of chocolate, coffee, anise, cardamon, vanilla, toast and raspberries.
The taste is very sharp and the alcohol has a definite bite that combines with the hops to attack the palate and dominate then gives way to a very complex smokey malt filled with a variety of flavors of smoke, bourbon, apples, bananas, coffee, chocolate, vanilla with a subtle peppery tinge in the finish.
The moutfeel is fairly creamy and the beer is a heavy one, especially for an American Stout.
Overall this is an exceptional stout that is very easy to enjoy. I found it went extremely well with some sushi.
