A-Pours a pitch black color with a toffee colored head. Head is moderately sized and leaves a small amount of lacing.

S-A lot of nuance here. Sweet vanilla, milk chocolate, burnt sugar, and a touch of coffee. Smells fantastic. Also some caramel in the back of the nose. Sweet, but not overly sweet.

T-Front of the palate is hit with the sweet chocolate and faint vanilla, then fades into a bitter chocolate/coffee combination with a lingering boozy bite. Sweetness is balanced perfectly with bitterness. Boozy bite is not too much and is just enough to make a nice presence. Aftertaste is of charred wood.

MF-Creamy feel with a medium body. Body needs to be a bit more full for an imperial stout, but it's ok. Finishes a bit too crisp and dry as well.

O-Damn. One of my favorite stouts now. It's balanced to near perfection and isn't overly sweet or bitter for a chocolate based stout. This is a thing of beauty and is up there with FBS.

pouring pitch black with a dark tan had that lingers only around the edges of the class good lacing as you drink smells of chocolate bar with roast hidden behind itwith a slight toasted smell flavor is strong chocolate followed by roast and a very balanced hop bitterness the beer is very well-balanced not too sweet and the mouth feel belies the heavy malt bill and high alcohol content
