Winter 2010 bottle poured into a snifter. Pours almost completely black w/ a mocha head. Aroma is rich chocolate, a hint of booze and a slight nuttiness when swirled. But mostly delicious, high quality chocolate.

Taste is more of the same - dark rich bittersweet chocolate with some nice warming alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel and a pretty dry finish.

Overall this is a really nice chocolate stout. Sweetness is balanced well by bitterness, and chocolate is always center stage. But this beer is also a bit of a one-trick pony, so I'd only want to drink one of these every once in a while.

Finally getting to try the rare gem that is Choklat! Even with being a bit disappointed with the base stout, the hype has me excited for this on.

Dark as night pour, very deep and dark black. The head is nonexistent, but a swirl shows some alcohol and carbonation legs here.

Absolutely just straight chocolate on the nose. I’m thinking some kind of Belgian variety that gives it a bit of a crème and spice hint. This has some similar notes to the crème brulee. As it warms and sits this one is bringing out the hops that I somewhat dislike in the other black water series beers. This has me a touch apprehensive.

A huge chocolate flavor, but unlike the other black water series this has a nice bitter finish. It really brings out the roast and malt to complement the chocolate flavors. As for flavors, coco nibs, espresso, fudge, milk chocolate…wonderful.

Not a hint of alchol and the body seems to be just about right. A touch more silk would help things, but still solid.

I don’t get it. Why is this so much better in every possible way than the other beers in this series? The feel, the balance, the body, everything is just amazing. Easily one of the best chocolate beers I’ve had.

Pours pitch black with a thick layer of dense, brown head that has good retention. The nose is rich chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is rich, sweet, and very chocolaty. This is almost like chocolate milk. There is some alcohol warmth as the beer itself warms. The mouthfeel is full bodied, smooth, rich, and well carbonated.

This is a phenomenal beer. It's absolutely delicious, drinkable, superb.

Very thick liquid pours out of the bottle. off-white, close to caramel colored head tops this beauty of a beer.

Jesu Christe it smells like chocolate. Powdered chocolate to be exact. They didnt add that slightly bittersweet baking chocolate crap; milk chocolat eis everywhere. Hints of chocolate syrup.

The taste is completely loaded with chocolate. This is what would be a stereotypical girl beer. it tastes like chocolate syrup at the bottom of the glass of chocolate milk. Its not as creamy as I expected, but thats actually a good thing. I get the chocolate flavors, but am not burdened by sweetness. Hints of roasted malts are very muddled in the background.

I like the semblance of balance that comes in. Alcohol is hidden in the bacground, even taken over the by miniature hints of roasted malts, but even then its very slight and hardly noticeable. Leaves a slightly bitter feeling that compliments the sweet chocolate flavors.

Overall, I think its a fantastic beer, and one hell of dessert beer. Might go well with some New York cheesecake with raspberry sauce.
