Oh wow! Got to have some of this on tap at Kickbacks Gastropub in Jacksonville. I am a huge fan of Southern Tier and this is a beer that I have been looking forward to trying since they first brewed it.
The beer was served in a 6oz snifter. the color is completely black with a half inch head that that left a beautiful lacing in the glass.
I pick up vanilla, creme, and butterscotch. Very, very sweet.
The taste is similar to the smell, though it's not as sweet as I expected judging by the smell. I get the same notes as on the nose with some toasted marshmallow and burnt sugar on the finish. I don't get any booze, which is scary for a beer that's nearly 10%.
Overall, I this is a great take on an imperial stout. Very creamy and sweet. Extremely drinkable. Well done, Southern Tier. Well done.

This is a unique beer. It's a sweet stout that smells and tastes like you're dining on an actual crème brulee. The aroma is overwhelming with vanilla and caramel. The taste follows the nose and the mouthfeel is silky smooth and slightly viscous with low carbonation. You can skip ordering dessert and just have some of this instead. I wouldn't drink this beer after mowing the lawn, but after a fine meal, it would perfectly hit the spot.

Poured from the 22oz bottle into a large tulip.
Pours dark molasses with minimal caramel head.
Smell is insane. Sweet vanilla, caramelized sugar, roasty malts. Perfection for what ST was going for with this beer. This smells more like a creme brulee than the real thing.
Taste is amazing as well. Maybe a touch muted from the nose, but totally delicious.
Mouthfeel was a touch thin for a stout. I would have enjoyed a touch more body.
Overall, this beer is amazing. A real eye opener.
