22oz bottle from the LCBO, part of the Winter release. Into two stemmed wine snifters, shared with the girlfriend.
Pours black, with a finger or two of khaki head, Mild retention, sticky lace. Nose is huge, loads of graham cracker, burnt sugar, pie crust/pastry crust and vanilla, with some alcohol hanging out in the back. Taste is fairly complex, lots of stuff thrown together here. Caramel, sweet creme brulee, dark chocolate, burnt brown sugar and vanilla all find their way in there, with some alcohol on the back end. Great mouthfeel, thick and real chewy. Drinkability takes a hit, this is super sweet and a real dessert beer. Half a bomber was more than enough, almost too much for me. Interesting stuff, and really gives the impression of some creme brulee.
