Pours black, with a light tan head, spotty lacing. Nice, nothing special.

Smell is delicious. Really strong vanilla, actually kinda smells like a creme brulee. It's not super complex, but it knows what it's going for and gets it right. Vanilla, a bit of caramel, some chocolate. Super decadent, great dessert smell.

Unfortunately, the taste doesn't live up. It really just tastes like fake vanilla. It's got the sweetness which is nice, but it's one dimensional and tastes more like a corn-based vanilla substitute than real vanilla. Pretty disappointing, but not altogether unpleasant.

Mouthfeel is fine. Medium thickness, decent carb. Good, but didn't really stand out.

Overall a fine, if one-dimensional stout. The nose is really the standout part of this drink.

Poured into a rouge pint glass from a bomber.

A-pours a the color of true dark chocolate with a milky chocolate film covering the top. not much head.

S-wow. Smells like a mom and pop coffee shop. delicious. lots of vanilla filled with nice bits of coffee, chocolate and caramel pleasing the nose as well.

T-an overpowering amount of vanilla smacks your tongue immediately upon entering the mouth shocking your tongue. As soon as the immediate rush is over a hard amount of espresso smacks your tongue. As it slides down your throat you get a blast of 100% cocoa bittering your tongue hard.

MF- a bit thinner than I expected. Definitely boozy. a bit creamy.

O-This is a pretty good beer. Very powerful. This was a total shock to my nose and mouth. But it is nicely sweet. The alcohol is very noticeable on the finish.

Pours a pure black with no head just a tiny bit of white round the rim.

Smells exactly like creme brulee, quite amazing really.

The taste like the smell is creme brulee. It's amoust like a strong stout with liquidised desert in it. There's also a bit of alcohol in there but not too much considering the abv.

The mouth is creamy and medium to thick bodied with low carbonation.

All I can say is this is amazing, southern have made a beer that tastes exactly like creme brulee. If I was in a resteraunt with the wife this would finish it off nicely. I couldn't drink too much but a 22oz was perfect.

First of all I gotta say wow this beer is amazing, I poured it into a tulip it pours a very dark brown almost black with a tan one finger head, nose I get tons of vanilla and custard up front, taste again a bunch of vanilla, custard, vanilla cake, and finishes with roasty notes, its got a pretty good and full mouth feel, overall this beer is amazing and totally hits the Creme Brulee right on the head

Looks good and black like a sweet stout should, accompanied by appropriately tanned head that hinges on the edges. Smell is spot on! Dude talking blueberries? I'm not feelin' it. I'm not even a fan of the custard, but the name on this brew next to its nose...is PERFECT!

I'm a tad confused on the relatively cold serving recommendation--mine might be a little on the warm side (like you'd want most other stouts). Sweet, caramely butter, though, is a great warm, way for me to kick my feet up after arriving home from vacation. It's absolutely dessert in a bottle, and the mouthfeel is so creamy smooth and buttery it's ridiculous!

I've sorta steered clear of Southern Tier here lately, but their dessert beers (this and Choklat) are second to none!

A - Very dark brown brew pour with almost no head and no lacing.

S - Smells like vanilla custard and burnt sugar. They deliver on this creme brûlée thing for sure... The vanilla is very pungent. Placing your nose near the beer is almost nauseating. It's a struggle, but underneath the vanilla, I detect faint hints of blueberries. It is . . . unique.

T - Immediately, it presents with a very acrid bitterness. The flavor is of extremely intense vanilla, custard and caramelized sugar. Underneath this, there is charred malt. Aftertaste is really, really bitter, but it is a caustic, medicinal sort of bitterness - not at all pleasant. Along with the bitterness is lingering vanilla. Unlike a lot of beers, the sweetness and bitterness don't play nice. They make for a startlingly unpleasant brew. I really just hate the taste of this.

M - Smooth, but with high carbonation, medium bodied, a little refreshing, but the bitterness prevents that from shining.

D - Ugh. My tongue feels like it was just beaten with a vanilla bat. I commend Southern Tier for brewing this, it delivers enough creme brûlée that one feels the beer has delivered true to its name. However, I don't like it. It is just narrowly above drain pour for me. With a lot less vanilla and a lot less of that gross medicinal bitterness, this could be a tasty brew, but it is too over-the-top to enjoy.

Edit: I almost ended up pouring this down the drain, but I found that it meshes strangely well with peanut butter. As long as you don't accidentally smell it, drinking this while eating peanut butter is kind of pleasant.
