yet another gem sent to me by IBUnit63, thanks man!

Pours a glowing amber color..head is small and sticks around for a short time before receding to a small ring.
Apricot, tangerine, green apple, orange peel, and peach fruit flavors blend together nicely with the warmth of the sweet melted caramel malt..vanilla-tinged oak is noticed, but only an accent to an already great brew. Any alcohol in this (and who are we kidding here, there is a good amount) is actually hardly noticed. Full body, relatively low carbonation. Even with a mouthfeel that is fairly slick, it is remarkably smooth & easy to drink.
Well worth a try, Southern Tier delivers once again.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into an imperial pint glass.

A: The beer is a bright golden brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, brown sugar, fruit, some alcohol and some hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel, brown sugar and some fruit. Then some alcohol sting comes in along with a hearty but not too heavy malt character. The oak essence is also prevalent. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and a little crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, strong kick, decent representation of style, it’s an ok aged beer to drink for a while.

Clear bright copper (SRM 14) with no head. Very viscous in a Dogfish Head snifter glass.

Big sweet malt with ample caramel, followed by pine tar, dates, and hints of fig. Also detected with warmth is sweet tea, oak, allspice, and perhaps some red wine.

Sweet malt with light bitterness generally follows the nose with emphasis on the oak, but no allspice or wine. Pine and tea are more prominent with warming. This one has a long, mild finish.

A full, syrupy body controls the alcohol, while prickly carbonation controls the chewiness.

This is a decent beer that fits within my impression of the style, if not precisely within the actual profile. It was enjoyed late in the afternoon of St. Patrick’s Day.

I bought this during Thanksgiving weekend on a trip to NY.

A - dark, murky orange with a thin, white head that fades very quickly

S - huge bready aroma, big candy sugar notes

T - bread, candy sugar, faint oak and wood in the finish, well masked alcohol

M - medium to full bodied, well carbonated, a bit warm

This is incredibly malty with a dominant bread note. There is also a strong sugar presence. Overall, the flavor is similar to some barleywines that I've had but without much of a hop character. This wasn't a bad beer, but it had a simplistic flavor profile. I'm glad I got to try it.
