Pours a brownish copper with more than a finger of head that sticks around for awhile and then leaves nice lacing on the glass in its wake. The scent of oak melds nicely with the hop and grapefruit notes. The malt and hop flavors are well balanced, but there is no real hint of oak character. If anything, it appears that the oak may have had a muting effect on the hop profile. For an offering that clocks in at nearly 10% abv, there is no real hint of alcohol. That makes this both drinkable AND dangerous.

Holy oak taste, Batman!
Forget aged in oak. This tastes like I'm just drinking right out of the barrel. Oak, brown, tannins. That's what this beer tastes like. Also some hops and malt... but mostly just oak.
No real good aromas to speak of.
What am I drinking? Sigh. Drinkable and unique, but wouldn't have it again
