Pours exactly like I expected-- I've enjoyed a number of Southern Tier's brews and I have yet to be disappointed.
Golden-copper-amber-orange hue with a slightly cloudy look-- like the flavors banging on the walls of the glass to be liberated from its confinement.
A frothy head appears that blasts off a nose, albeit not particularly robust but still it's there to my aging olfactory system- perhaps floral might be an adjective, citrus, hops and alcohol-- it is after-all an IMPERIAL IPA...
The flavor is in keeping with the beer's moniker. A wonderful combination of hops bitterness, but punctuated with a citrus sour-sweet, a malt character, and all intermingled with something I find hard to describe-- perhaps "Spring time"-- the greenery reappearing, re-growth, vegetation and some other bucolic all-sorts.
The mouthfeel is quite cordial- maybe it's the citrus notes or the subdued but active effervescence that keeps life on the palate and beckons me to take another sip. Long after the beer is gone down the gullet, my tongue keeps swirling around hunting for another hint of this glorious libation.
Drinkability-- even with 11% ABV the drinkability is superior- maybe it's the flavor and its reverberations that intrigue my palate distracting me from the effects of the alcohol, or it's just a finely crafted brew and I accept the fact that an Imperial IPA must have an elevated ABV to be true to it's moniker. Regardless, an IPA that should be sampled (and enjoyed)

Holy oak taste, Batman!
Forget aged in oak. This tastes like I'm just drinking right out of the barrel. Oak, brown, tannins. That's what this beer tastes like. Also some hops and malt... but mostly just oak.
No real good aromas to speak of.
What am I drinking? Sigh. Drinkable and unique, but wouldn't have it again
