Appearance-Jet black, resembling a piece of dark chocolate.
Smell-Alch is first then a wonderful chocolate aroma and followed by a slight coffee backing.
Taste- I'm impressed here, when I saw the abv and the first whiff when it was poured, I wondered if it would be an overpowering beer that lacked in flavor. There was no need to be worried, this is a great chocolate stout. Thick complex, with rasin, coffee, and chocolate sweetness all balancing together.
Mouthfeel- Thick and chewy
Drinkability- surprising, I could drink this faster than most imperials, and more if it were not for the sweetness which does hold it back.
A great beer, something I would have a cold fall night like tonight, probably a great dessert beer.
