Had on Tap at mellow mushroom in wilder Kentucky. Served in the ever popular and Ever useful Kentucky bourbon barrel ale sniffer.

A- very dark brown on the top fading into a pitch black at te bottom of the glass. Starts out with a dense dark khaki head that slowly fades to tiny islands of dirty white islands with small amounts if lace in the side if the glass

S- wow! Rich dark chocolate hits you hard. Getting a faint rich chocolate coffee smell but mostly hard core chocolate. Tasty.

T- just about mirrors the nose and that is great. Lots if chocolate, very milky and rich. A pleasant faint hop bite rounds this beer off to keep it from being to overpoweringly sweet.

M- you think a beer if this style would be heavier especially the way it tastes but irbid only about medium bodied. I actually prefer this feel since it allows you to appreciate the flavors without being overwhelmed.

Overall one if the best stouts I have ever had. Really full flavors that jump and ask you to have another sip. For all of the big hyped one day Release stouts. This beer stands shoulder to shoulder with them.

I had one of these a couple of years ago and wasn't that impressed but I wanted to homebrew an Imperial stout and I figured this would let me know if I wanted to add coffee and/or chocolate to it.

A - Black color with a light khaki colored head with light lacing. Doesn't pour too thick but still creamy.

S - Tons of chocolate and coffee aromas pound your nose with a nice stout backbone after the initial hit. The chocolate and coffee meld extremely well with the roastiness of the stout. You can definitely tell they were not beating around the bush with the other ingredients; from the smell this is literally a mocaccino drink mixed with a stout.

T - Great sweetness that is held with the chocolate and roasted notes over the complex coffee and malt flavors. It seems as though there is lactose or low attenuation because the flavors coat your mouth and let you soak the sweet mocha in. Not too overpowering or too cloying with the roasty stout balance but lots of flavors in there and it makes you want another drink. There is some alcohol warmth but it doesn't detract.
M - High mouth-feel and some may think of it as cloying but it is more flavorful than just sweet. Light carbonation which may lend itself to not helping the body seem more drinkable. On the thicker side but not quite as thick as Ten Fidy or some >11% Imperial Stouts.

Overall, this a delicious flavored Imperial Stout. Couldn't drink more than one in a night but this is a very tasty stout that has the alcohol to put you down when you want a cafe mocha at 10pm. And maybe you've tried this before and didn't like it I would suggest you try it again and maybe you'll love it. Not overall my favorite beer of the style, but I really look forward to having it again next year when it comes out again.

I guess I'm biased but this is still one of my favorite beers. I bought a bottle at Wegman's (local grocery store). It cost only $7.99 for the bomber bottle which i thought was reasonable for an imperial beer that does a fine job of combining chocolate and coffee flavors. I haven't had one for a few years so I thought I'd try it though I wondered would it be as good. I was not disappointed, however.

Out of the bottle i had a knock your socks off aroma of chocolate. The coffee aroma was there though not as strong as the chocolate. It poured up a nice thick tan head with retention average. The wonderful aroma just won't die and keeps coming out of the glass. I wish they sold this flavor in air fresheners!

Carbonation spot on for this beer. Full body, slightly "chewy", ending with an warm alcohol sensation, not surprising for an 11.2% beer. Flavor profile includes the chocolate and coffee flavors, and some caramel.

I have had both the Jahva and Choklat separately and feel I prefer the mix to either. Profile starts out really smooth then the alcohol hits, then a slight "roastiness", a fairly clean finish. Definitely on the "sweet side", not hoppy, to be enjoyed as a "dessert beer". But not too sweet I hasten to mention. I would consider purchasing a case of this beer.

p.s. I detected a flavor close to vanilla. I didn't want to mention it at first since it wasn't listed in the ingredients but i thought it was there and I see now some other people picked the flavor out as well so there you have it. A secret ingredient? A known mellowing/smoothing agent? Could be. Stranger things have happened in the beer world!

On draft in a 10oz snifter at Mainely Brews. Pours a dark black opaque with very minor head of an off white yellowish color, very good lacing ten minutes after the pour. Smells of mainly chocolate (dark chocolate) especially, with hints of coffee and vanilla sugar. Tastes as wonderful as it smells, you instantly notice the chocolate on first mouthful, and as it sits the coffee comes out as well as the vanilla in the after taste. The mouth feel is thin and light for a stout, with moderate carbonation if any, perfect compliment to the taste in my opinion. Overall it is an exceptional stout and one that I'll definitely be seeking out again!
