Purchased a 6pk at Wegmans in Warrington, PA
Purchase price: 10.99/6pk
Enjoyed in a DFH Signature Glass
A - Pours a light honey color. Translucent. Pours with a frothy one-finger head that fades to a light skim on top of the beer. Good amount of lacing left on the side of the glass.
S - A combination of citrusy, grapefruit aromas mixed with a nice hop smell.
T - A rather dry but very flavorful DIPA. A good balance between the bitterness of the hops and the malt backbone. The flavors are intermingled with citrus, pine and a good amount of sweetness. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. The alcohol is dangerously disguised.
M - A good amount of carbonation. A rather dry finish that begs for you to take another sip.
O - A really nice example of a DIPA. I enjoyed this beer quite a bit and look forward to enjoying the remaining beers in the 6pk. My first experience with Southern Tier and I was impressed. Recommended.

A - Slightly hazy yellow orange beer with short tight head that fades quickly to a film and extensive lacing.
S - Solid nose of pine, grapefruit citrus, floral notes, with a mild honeyed element, presumably from the malt.
T - Stronger honey couples with a hint of lemon and a certain medicinal element. Another IPA that reminds me of a honey lemon throat lozenge, not that that is a bad thing. This is a pretty delicious brew. Middle comes with some bitterness, and that runs through the close. At the end, the honey comes back, offering a touch of sweetness.
M - Mild carbonation means the bitterness and hop oils hang around. Not a sign of the serious alcohol, though, which is a significant accomplishment.
O - This is a solid double IPA, with bright flavors. An added benefit is this quite drinkable for a DIPA. I will pick this one up again, I suspect.
