Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: Pours a bright and clear pale golden orange with lots of rising bubbles. Big four finger creamy white head with very good retention. Leaves a lot of lacing around the glass.
Smell: Very hoppy and lively. Big burst of citrus hops upfront with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, pineapple, and lemon. Solid hints of spicy pine resin and grassy hops. Solid malt background with good hints of bready biscuit, caramel, and toffee. Really solid aroma.
Taste: Like the smell, a very hop forward taste with a nice malt backbone. Big citrus hop esters with notes of grapefruit, mango, oranges, pineapple, and lemon. Some pine resin adds a nice spice. Hops are also grassy and floral. Solid malt presence in the background with good notes of biscuit, toffee, and caramel. Pretty good.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy and slightly oily. Goes down pretty smooth for the style and the alcohol heat is minimized.
Overall: A really good Double IPA. Big hops with good esters and a nice malt balance. Great to have this year round when the hard to get Double IPA's are out of season.

While still better than the majority of mass-produces beer, this is a representation of the style I am not fond of. It's all hops with just a bit of malt sweetness before the hops take over.
Pine-y resins of hops comes through on the pour, with a pale wheat-straw colour giving up a decent-sized head that dissipated quickly, leaving very little lacing. The taste was as I described above - you get a malty sweetness on the tongue that quickly gives way to the 4 varieties of hops used in this brew. This BA cannot taste any hidden notes of fruits. Finish is very dry & bitter, and this lingers for quite a while on the palate. Mouthfeel is decent, a little thick & with good carbonation.
Overall, not a favourite of mine.
