A - Beautiful white lacing, 1 1/2 fingers of snow-white head. Brew itself is a clear straw-like amber with tons of carbonation.
S - Honey malts, but a strong nose of citrus hops are the primary factor here. Southern Tier claims to use a bunch of different hops in each of their IPAs, and it shows in the aroma; I can pick up some citrus and some clear floral notes, but it's overall a big blend of hops.
T - A little pine, but this is mostly a pulpy, sweet citrus DIPA. Not particularly sour, but definitely not a citrus peel effect, either. Very well balanced with sweet malts.
M - Oily residue that is pleasant, the 8.2% ABV is completely hidden, and there is no sting whatsoever. However, there is a slight lingering aftertaste that is a little sub-par.
O - This is not a game-changing DIPA, but it's very, very good. It's on par with single IPAs like Flower Power and Jai Alai; in other words, it's a drinkable, every day IPA. I expect a little more from DIPAs, but this is still a very good brew.

While still better than the majority of mass-produces beer, this is a representation of the style I am not fond of. It's all hops with just a bit of malt sweetness before the hops take over.
Pine-y resins of hops comes through on the pour, with a pale wheat-straw colour giving up a decent-sized head that dissipated quickly, leaving very little lacing. The taste was as I described above - you get a malty sweetness on the tongue that quickly gives way to the 4 varieties of hops used in this brew. This BA cannot taste any hidden notes of fruits. Finish is very dry & bitter, and this lingers for quite a while on the palate. Mouthfeel is decent, a little thick & with good carbonation.
Overall, not a favourite of mine.
