A- clear golden with a foamy light head

S- juniper, pine, some sweet malt, floral

T- piney hop, light bitterness rough out that builds, clean malt, slightly dry on the finish, good

M- medium carbonation, light body, crisp

O- nothing super special or different from the norm about this one, but a well done ipa for sure and that's always nice to find

Poured into a tulip.

A: Pours a light golden amber color with impressive clarity and vibrance. The head is a two finger off white color with mediocre retention and good lacing.

S: A smell of piny/floral hops, some onion, a little malt...but there's something off here. It smells slightly stale, though it's nothing horrible.

T: I knew this had hints of onion and garlic! Is my mind playing tricks on me, or does this feature Summit hops? I can definitely taste them here, along with the opening crisp floral/piny/citric bite. There's solid bitterness throughout, but it's kept in check by its doughy malt notes. As it warms up, a slight touch of alcohol enters the palate. Not much complexity, but balanced and shockingly easy to drink. Tastes much better than it smells, too.

M: Somewhat heavy on the tongue with high carbonation - a strange combination in an IPA that actually works for what this is trying to accomplish. The astringent bitterness also gives the tongue a nice tingling sensation.

O: I really can't complain about getting a solid DIPA for $10 a 6 pack. Even though this might be an older bottle, it still ended up being really good. This one will be on my radar in the future.

A - A nice, clear yellow-amber color with foamy, light, white head which laces decently to the glass and is moderate in size.

S - Yeast, hops, citrus, some pine, grapefruit.

T - Follows those nose pretty much to the point, but a little more vibrant than it smelled. A nice tasting beer. Hops are somewhat heavy but not tastebud-numbing. Pleasant.

M - Good, balanced sip. Appropriately carbonated. Moderately dry. Hops are in a sophisticated balance such that each sip tastes the same as the previous. Nicely done.

D - A solid beer. I'm not real familiar with Southern Tier, but I would get this again. This beer has earned enough cred with me to go back to the brewery for something else, at the very least.
