What a gorgeous IPA like lager that really showcases hops from the noble line.
A - Beautifully bright pale golden which is nicely cloudy. The head is meringue like foam very thick and persistent.
S - Subtle yet powerful aromas of noble hops - most of the hops used in this beer are descendent of hallertau and it shows - a wonderful slightly grassy/piney nose.
T - This beer tastes like heaven I say. Nice frontal sweet malty notes (but not cloying)which transition into tropical fruit notes - possibly pineapple-like or passion fruity. Then the noble hops take over and leave a supremely refined bitter finish that is to be savored. Piney and grassy as opposed to citrusy imo. To my taste the alcohol is there but in a good way - adds nicely to the way the hop and malt flavors glide on the palette. Very dynamic in the way the beer starts and ends with the taste - first with the fresh barley notes then a juicy middle of tropical fruitiness, then fades to dryness with noble hop character dominating. A+
M - wonderful texture in the mouth. Nice full bodied feel.
D - I found the alcohol to be fairly well hidden - poking out only where it should to add in flavor. Also, I managed to get 6 of these bombers at $4/bottle which is outrageous for a beer this great! I'm not complaining - extraordinary value for the price.

Pours deep gold with a rich white foamy head. Surprising for a brew with a few years of age. Smell is faint..mostly a light boozy sweet smell indicative of age. Taste is bold like a lager with the malt at full flavor, again light booze sweetness lingering in background. Mouthfeel is thick for a lager..definitely heavy. Overall this beer is definitely a true lager, although it loses flavor with the age. Would like to try an imperial beer of this style when fresh.
