A: Black as night and super thick. The bubbles take some time to work their way to the top.
S: A subtle sweetness. Some coffee and chocolate as well. Maybe a little marshmallow. Pretty light smelling for how thick it seems.
T: A sourness and alcohol are the star players here. Roasty coffee and a sweetness come in second. It's an interesting taste but I'm not sure this is what I was hoping for in a stout. I think if the alcohol was toned down a little bit this would be a lot nicer.
M: Sits with a heavy body. Bubbles compliment it decently.
Overall a pretty nice beer. It's not mind blowing and that alcohol is the star player which isn't what I was looking for. Maybe worth checking out but not crazy about it.

Served on nitro tap at Farmhouse in Burlington.
Serves up soooo nice looking, jet black body with half a finger of thick creamy khaki head.
Not a high volume of aromas, but it was rich and roasty, good sweetness.
Taste was delicious touch on the thin side.
Mouthfeel was silky, velvety a touch thin.
Overall, a lot to like with this beer.

12oz bottle served in a pint glass
Pours a very dark brown that is a few shades lighter than black, fairly opaque it doesn't allow much light through but does throw some highlights on the edges. The head is about a finger thick, light tan bubbles that fall to a thin layer in some time. The smell is a touch of roasted malt combined with lactose sugary sweetness and dark caramels or light chocolates. The taste is similar to the smell as the lactose sweetness leads the way bolstered by the chocolate notes and finished with a touch of roasted malt bitterness. Hop aroma and flavor is nearly nonexistent, there may be just a touch of bitterness coming from hops with the bulk from the malt. Trends a bit towards the sweet side, especially up front while the body is incredibly creamy and smooth both due to the lactose and a high level of fine bubbled carbonation. Overall a good stout, I'm not the biggest fan of the style so personally I"m not thrilled by this beer but would say that it is well done and should be liked by fans of milk stouts.
