Dark brown, near black in color. Almost opaque, just a few photons are able to penetrate. Fairly weak head, not much lacing.
Clean aroma, cooked corn and other cereal grains. Weak roasted aroma.
Flavor is mild overall. Grits and steel cut oat flavor form a solid backbone. Hops are citric, providing an orange-lemon twist with a hint of grass. Can also taste a faint yeast flavor. Roasted notes come through ever so subtly in the end.
Medium bodied. Malts and grains in the texture. Good carbonation. Smooth feel overall.
Way different than I expected when I saw "2x Stout" but this is not necessarily a bad thing. The unique property of this beer is the mellow roasted flavor which allows all the underlying flavors to come out. Don't let to color of this beer trick you, it is a very mellow and drinkable brew.

Served on nitro tap at Farmhouse in Burlington.
Serves up soooo nice looking, jet black body with half a finger of thick creamy khaki head.
Not a high volume of aromas, but it was rich and roasty, good sweetness.
Taste was delicious touch on the thin side.
Mouthfeel was silky, velvety a touch thin.
Overall, a lot to like with this beer.

12oz bottle served in a pint glass
Pours a very dark brown that is a few shades lighter than black, fairly opaque it doesn't allow much light through but does throw some highlights on the edges. The head is about a finger thick, light tan bubbles that fall to a thin layer in some time. The smell is a touch of roasted malt combined with lactose sugary sweetness and dark caramels or light chocolates. The taste is similar to the smell as the lactose sweetness leads the way bolstered by the chocolate notes and finished with a touch of roasted malt bitterness. Hop aroma and flavor is nearly nonexistent, there may be just a touch of bitterness coming from hops with the bulk from the malt. Trends a bit towards the sweet side, especially up front while the body is incredibly creamy and smooth both due to the lactose and a high level of fine bubbled carbonation. Overall a good stout, I'm not the biggest fan of the style so personally I"m not thrilled by this beer but would say that it is well done and should be liked by fans of milk stouts.
