Pours opaque dark brown with a 1/2 tan head that fades to a ring and thin cap on top and leaves some spotty lace.
Smell is somewhat muted and consists of earthy, almost herbal hops with faint coffee and cocoa.
Taste is dominated by roasted malt with some lactose sweetness and hints of coffee and chocolate with a bitter hop finish.
Texture is light bodied with medium carbonation.
Somewhat of a disappointment. A fairly mediocre effort. Lacking in body and the flavor profile comes across as watered down and uninteresting.

Dark, almost black appearance. Some lacing with dissipating head.
Touch of sweetness, maybe a bit of chocolate.
Fruitiness at the start before lactose kicks in with a touch of bitterness at the end.
Mouthfeel is milky, a bit of coating, but a nice coating
A very good milk stout. Will look for it when I am craving a milk stout.

Good 2 1/2 finger head from a steady pour, tan and firm. Retention is good, and lacing is wide and spotted. Brew pours a nut brown, settling into a dark opaque black in the glass.
Roasted barley, grape, and light cocoa aroma. Wheat and cream. Fairly mellow aroma.
Very balanced (imperial?) stout; really represents a lot of different flavors: big roasted barley notes up front (that linger through the entire range), chocolate malts, and a lot of cream on the finish.
Good balance, medium-full mouthfeel. Not a chewy stout; more silky. Some sting, some foaming. Surprising alcohol representation at only 7.5%. Very nice lasting, oily finish.
Very good double stout, not quite great, but it would make an excellent go-to stout for a daily drinker (pick this instead of Guinness). Very, very flavorful.

The beer comes in a nice black color with a fluffy brown head.
The aroma is very lacking but has some lactose and milk chocolate.
The flavors has medium plus roasted malt bitterness, burnt toast. There is watered down black coffee with tinges of cocoa. The finish has aggressive herbal and earthy hops. A good creamy and smooth mouthfeel at least.
The beer in general is lacking in flavor, but with assertive bitterness. It could use more robust malt character or sweetness.

12oz bottle poured into a Libby globe porter/stout glass. No date on the bottle.
Appearance: Dark brown to black - dark cola brown at the edges. Thin tan head died back fairly quickly and left a ring at the edge. some strands and sheets of persistent lacing.
Smell: Roasted malt, hint of coffee, cocoa powder, hint of citrus on the swirl, and something else. Raisins? Interesting and enticing.
Taste: Roasted malt, milky sweet chocolate balanced with black coffee notes and a bitter finish which is roasted/charred malt plus a hint of pine.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, nice thickness, some creaminess under the carbonation.
Overall / Drinkability: Very tasty. Nicely balanced between sweet and bitter. Went well with butterscotch cookies. I could easily have another.
