Case split 6 ways with friends of mine from work. Bottle poured into a standard nonic.
A: Pours a deeper dark shade of amber than I would have expected. Partially translucent. A thin off-white head on top that dissipated quickly.
S: Strong presence of holiday spices. Cinnamin. Nutmeg. Maybe some caramel-malt sweetness.
T: Taste follows the nose. Heavily spiced. Cinnamin is dominant. It tingles the tongue. Malt sweetness sweeps through at the end. Hops are difficult to detect. Despite being relatively light, the finish is semi-dry.
M: Carbonation is high. Mouthfeel tingles with spices. Body is a little light and thin.
D/O:This is a Great Lakes Christmas clone that beats it's inspiration at it's own game. It's novelty beer. Packed full of spice. If you're into "Christmas beer", this is probably worth trying at some point during the holiday season. But, having purchased 4 bottles, I'm feeling like that's 3 more than I need.
