Beer is made by creating a liquid rich with fermentable material. Yeast, a living organism, is added to the liquid. The yeast floats around the fermenter gobbling up soluble sugar & converting that energy into alcohol. It’s a volatile & active environment. During this time, the beer is literally alive.
Citra Hopped Live is bright, refreshing & loud. We cranked this pale ale up to 11 by adding a generous amount of Citra hops. With that in mind, we wanted the label to reflect the feeling of live music. Live pairs great with toe-tapping or head-banging to your favorite band on stage.

I want to state that I've had this on tap at Southern Tier about 6 months ago and thought it was incredible. By far their best beer ever. However, THIS review is based on the newly released 6 pack bottles.
A- Same as on draft. Clear, yellow, thin, etc.
S- decent. Very very very faint hop profile. To me, it seemed the aroma changed, granted, before drinking.
T- I had to say out loud WTF. It's a complete 180 as what it was on tap at the brewpub. ZERO citrus. I mean, ZERO citrus. ZERO hops. Overcarbonated, extremely watery. Reminded me a lot of miller light. I'm very upset about this.
M- As aforementioned; overcarbonated (burning tongue and nose) and very very thin and watery.
O- Terrible. I hope they just changed their formula for this because I don't believe my tastes have changed. I was extremely excited to see this at the store a few days ago and now, I'm extremely pissed. The bottle has a DOB of 2/25 too so it couldn't have gone off. I drank a whole 6er over the past few days before making this review to confirm that it was THIS bad, and unfortunately, it is. I sent out a few bombers to friends about a month or two ago and they said it was also very good, so again, I certainly hope this was just a badly-packaged 6er...

Clear deep gold, almost copper in color, with a small white head. Good retention.
Smells of generic citrus. Lemon, grapefruit, cracker, and earth.
Tastes of pink grapefruit juice, lemon zest, iced green tea, earthy, hay, and biscuit malt--finishing with a slight citrusy bitterness.
Medium-light mouthfeel, well carbonated, smooth and crisp and just slightly sticky.
A solid pale ale. Refreshing enough.

Pours golden yellow with a 1/4 inch white head which quickly dissipates. Light lacing.
Aroma is piney, grapefruity, floral.
Taste is piney, citrusy, earthy.
Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Semi-dry finish.
A pretty good PA from Southern Tier.

Fairly nice pale ale with a good amount of bitterness at the end. Pours a honeyed golden color with some fluffy white head and some spotty lingering lacing. Smells strongly of bitter grapefruit and piney hops, a little malt and caramel. Tastes similarly, along with some mild vanilla. Fairly strong hit of hoppy bitterness, not much sweet malt backbone but it's not bad at all and the hops finish clean. Smooth, thin, mild mouthfeel and decent carbonation. Not my favorite pale ale but certainly enjoyable.

Not much citra here to be honest, but the beer itself is okay. Really average across the board. Almost like a bit of English hops on the nose, which is a bit odd. Flavor could certainly be bigger, but nothing bad here. High drinkability. Oerall, just okay and not something I'd get again.

A rather boring brew from Southern Tier. Had one bottle as part of a mixed 6 pack, glad that's all I bought. Not going to go into details here, but just a boring beer in general.
