Consumed March 28th, 2012. Poured into a standard pint glass. Beer has a "born on" date of January 24th, 2012.
Beer is a very clear medium gold. A moderate pour elicits a one-finger off-white head. Meringue-like and composed of bubbles of varying sizes. Slight stickiness on the sides of the glass.
Very aromatic: citrus (grapefruit and lemon) and a grassy note.
Flavor is hop-forward: grapefruit and pine start things off. Sadly, there is almost no malt flavor: just a dash of caramel. Significant but not out-of-control grapefruit rind bitterness on the finish.
On the tongue, the beer is tingly and prickly. Medium bodied.
A very credible IPA. Compares well to beers of the caliber of Firestone's Union Jack.
