Nice herbal floral scents with a nice bready malt. A floral and herbal taste and bitterness throughout with a nice bready malt sweetness that mixes in with the bitterness really well. I'm also picking up on some green apple.
The bitterness is nice and this seems like session beer and cant even taste the alcohol or even seem like a 7 percent beer wow. Southern Tier keeps impressing me and this is the up and coming biggest brewery to watch out for.
Get this beer if you want a session IPA with a really nice herbal floral bitterness. It doesnt really have citrus or grapefruit in there is very herbal. So if you like that definitely get this beer.

Served in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance – Served a clear medium amber colored beer with a one finger white head. The head faded over a moderate amount of time to leave a nice level of lacing.
Smell – The smell was heaviest of a citrus and pine hop aroma. Mixed with the hoppy smells were notes of light (pear and peach) and tropical fruits.
Taste – The taste begins a bit on the sweeter side, with some of the citrus that was detected in the nose being upfront in the taste. As the flavor advances the pine hop taste makes it arrival known and begins bitter the overall taste of the beer. As it furthers the taste is met with flavors of an herbal nature, which in the end leave a more crisp flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the average side for both creaminess as well as carbonation. Fairly good for the style; both drinkable as well as good for bringing out the hoppier flavors.
Overall – Overall a good IPA. Not too strong and too light and quite easy to drink.

A: This Southern Tier IPA pours a deep hazy orange color with a thick soapy, bright white head that leaves some decent lacing. Lots of carbonation coming up from the bottom of the glass as well.
S: Aroma consists of strong pine and citrus, very characteristic of what an IPA should smell like. I also get a smell of some clove, honey and a little bit of banana.
T: Very earthy up front with the taste consisting of grapefruit at first, then blending in to that pine/citrus blend. Get some grassy notes towards the end which is complimented by honey and spice. The after taste does have a dry yeast feel, but its not as strong as one would expect.
M: Very citrus feel, basic IPA characteristics with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink and the alcohol is not noticed with all of the flavors.
O: A very nice, strong, IPA. Has the hop bite that you hope for from the style, but isnt dominate by any one ingredient. Very well blended and is a drink one, drink six type of beer.
