12oz. Darker clear gold pour, very thin layer of white. Laces just a bit.
Aroma, Bread, biscuit, light caramel. Some herbal like hop presence.
Taste, Grainy cereal malts, some corn muffin. Some yeasty and light hop notes. Quite a bit of alcohol in the end. Really crushes this.
Heavy side of light bodied, adequate carbonation. A little warm, but the alcohol is more in flavor than in mouthfeel.
Just not quite enough to back up the abv. I think. Interesting attempt, but I wouldn't look for another imperial steam beer after this one.

Appearance is a cloudy light copper with a half finger of lacing. This offering is heavier in both body and flavor than the standards of this style. The flavor is malty with an almost molasses-like sweetness. The finish is semi-dry and lightly bitter. There is also a faint lingering sweet note.
I think that this experiment proves that not all beer styles are better "doubled" or "imperialed."
