A - So far so good it's a bright clear deep amber brown, fed by mild carbonation I do get a nice 1/2 inch of sticky head. Decent lacing.
S - Smells pretty plan like an ESB or a amber lager. Not getting much hops it smells rather boring.
T - Again it kind of taste like an amp'd up amber lager. Mild copper taste, caramel malts, and skunky lager taste. Man I can't get over the metallic taste...
M - Best part it hide the ABV well drinks like 6% but the flavors are all off and distracting.
Overall I see the label that 2 types of hops were used maybe they should have used another? Usually ST hits the ballpark with these 2X beers being balanced and hoppy but this one is metallic stingy and somewhat terrible...

Appearance is a cloudy light copper with a half finger of lacing. This offering is heavier in both body and flavor than the standards of this style. The flavor is malty with an almost molasses-like sweetness. The finish is semi-dry and lightly bitter. There is also a faint lingering sweet note.
I think that this experiment proves that not all beer styles are better "doubled" or "imperialed."
