A - Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours a nice amber color with less than one finger head and nice lacing.
S - Not much coming through on the smell. Not hoppy, pretty bland smell.
T - Tastes like your standard steam. I've come to expect a little more from ST. It kind of tastes like a weaker IPA.
M - Good carbonation and slightly sweet on the tongue. Bitterness comes through at the finish.
O - It's definitely an interesting beer and I'm glad I decided to pick one up. Not sure if I would ask for another one, however. I haven't had too many steam beers but in my novice opinion I'd rather stick to another one of the ST ales.

Appearance is a cloudy light copper with a half finger of lacing. This offering is heavier in both body and flavor than the standards of this style. The flavor is malty with an almost molasses-like sweetness. The finish is semi-dry and lightly bitter. There is also a faint lingering sweet note.
I think that this experiment proves that not all beer styles are better "doubled" or "imperialed."
